Tolle Kollegen, aber schwächelndes Top-Management. Bröckelnde Kultur
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
International colleagues and cultural diversity. Very innovative products and partially innovative services. Very positive image and good reputation.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Latest developments in leadership and management have lead to a less engaging corporate culture, people development and carreer chances have become intransparent and less diverse. Company growth and results is much below potential - one digit growth does not reflect amount of product innovations, product portfolio growth and investments in sales reps and digital business.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
"Walk the talk" - e.g. salery freeze for HQ employees 2015/2016 but high boni for an extended executive board, diversity and inclusion trainings for team leads but no diversity and executive board and management teams.
Reduce setup of Country-Hub organizations - this has increased cost of country organizations (especially in Hubs), shifted empowerment, but has decreased efficiency and effectiveness - thus also competitiveness - across whole Hilti group.
More empowerment for team members and support for entrepreneurship requires less micro-management of executives and level below.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Atmosphere is ok. Competition between departments and between HQ and country orgs is rising, not always positively resulting in more effectiveness.
Kommunikation
With new executive mangment, communication across organization has declined and become intransparent and incomplete.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Best about Hilti are its team members. International environment, different backgrounds, etc. People work together closely and respectfully. However, latest management developments start to be reflected among teams as well.
Work-Life-Balance
As stated above, flxible working hours are a big advantage. Work loads and performance expectations consistently demand (unpaid) extra hours on all levels and positions. Latest restructuring and job reductions have increased these conditions.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Management and leadership skills have decreased in the previous years. Coprorate culture is trained and expected from team members, but nor lived from top management and executive management. Promotions to managment positions are not based on success, relevant experience and skills but on consulting background. Former BCG members are preferred, as CFO came from BCG ans placed his friends and mates in important roles in HQ and country organizations.
Interessante Aufgaben
Many and diverse interesting topics and projects. Entrepreneurship could be better, but is reduced by micro managment, again starting on CFO level.
Gleichberechtigung
Little chances and no inclusion for handicapped persons. Very very few women in team lead roles. Executive Board and Mangement Teams mainly consists of 40-50 years old men, Germanic backgrounds, ex-consultants, no women.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Recently, many elderly team members were early retired or have been asked to leave company to be replaced by younger and cheaper members. Carreer opportunities for 45+ almost impossible if not already in top mgt. positions.
Arbeitsbedingungen
Working conditions are good. Working hours, child care, etc. allow flexibility and individuality. However, diversity and inclusion still only are modern buzz words but not executed. Chances and conditions for handicapped persons are very bad - not every building (inclusind the newest buildings) has respective parking areas, toilets, appropriate accessibility.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
very poor. Stated in corporate culture but not executed.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Ok. Team members and middle management positions are slightly below Liechtenstein/Swiss average but still ok.
Image
Image of Hilti is only driven by products and innovations but very good and very well known.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Good internal trainings, broad offer for internal trainings. Very little opportunities for external trainings or further education.
