First Interview: the first interview was held with the CTO. Surprisingly, there was no introduction to the product, nor any clear presentation of the concrete activities or responsibilities involved in the position. This lack of context made it difficult to assess the alignment between my experience and the company’s needs.
Second Interview: There was no curiosity or acknowledgment regarding my current training or its relevance.
This interview required a 10-minute presentation about a relevant project. In retrospect, this felt like a clever tactic to extract know-how from candidates. The process anticipated a third in-person interview, where candidates are expected to deliver/discuss an "assignment," thus further sharing their expertise.
Technical questions were generic and focused mainly on strategic thinking - questions like "What would you do?" and "How would you do it?"—on areas which I had explicitly stated were outside my knowledge base. My skills as a Software Engineer were not evaluated at all. References I made to programming languages, which were mentioned in the job description, were dismissed within seconds.
There was no explanation of how I could maintain or develop my software engineering skills within the role.
The interview lasted more than the time scheduled.
