Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

HR always tries hard to put a good spin on things. It's brave to alwas show the face on Kununu and try telling people that you listen, also when it is not true at all and pretty useless.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Let's Work Together Better: Right now, it feels like everyone's competing too much and it's pretty tough with the bosses being so strict. How about we try more team activities or fun stuff together to get that team vibe back? It's really about making sure everyone feels part of a group where we all support each other.

Talk More, Hide Less: It's kind of weird finding out what's happening in our own company from the news. Maybe we could do more of those big meetings like we used to, not just once a year? It would be nice to hear stuff directly and feel more in the loop.

Be Nice to Everyone: Seems like everything's about making more money, even if it means we're all stressed out. Maybe we can find a balance where the company does well but so do we, with some perks to make our days better and not feeling like we're just here to work all the time.

Help Us Grow Without Being Scary: The whole "keep your head down or else" thing is pretty harsh. It'd be great if there was more encouragement to learn new things and maybe even climb up the ladder without feeling scared. Also, making sure everyone gets a fair shot, especially the older folks and not just the top bosses getting all the rewards, would be really cool.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Too much competition amongst people and authoritarian management. Looming mass dismissals and "profits first" build a bad culture.

Kommunikation

From a townhall every month they went to one per year. We learn about the company strategy in the papers.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Good in some teams but competitiveness and fear to speak out are taking over the team spirit that we used to have.

Work-Life-Balance

Profits first with margins of 50%. There are some perks but they are disappearing.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Mushroom management. Pile tons of manure on people and if one dares sticking out the head, chop it off.

Interessante Aufgaben

The technical side of work is what keeps people going.

Gleichberechtigung

There is lack of respect everywhere because people come second.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Older colleagues are the first victims of multiple organisation redesigns

Arbeitsbedingungen

People come second and many had or are having burnouts.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Only lip service.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Inequality is thriving. Many people in management are just skimming big salaries and not creating value for the products.

Image

Was better before. Recently the image suffers with the profiteering attitude of "profits first".

Karriere/Weiterbildung

The only way forward is the way out.

Dear Explorer,

Thank you for sharing your frank and detailed feedback via Kununu. Your feedback highlights certain areas within SMG that we will carefully examine to ensure our continued growth and improvement. Your courage in voicing these concerns is not only appreciated but is also integral to our journey towards creating a more supportive, transparent, and fulfilling workplace.

We understand that your experience reflects a departure from the values and culture that SMG aims to embody. Please be assured that your feedback has been received not just as a critique but as a crucial call to action. Here’s how we plan to address the key points you’ve raised:

Team Dynamics & Management Approach: Team dynamics and the management approach can be challenging in our dynamic environment, but we are committed to working on it. We see this as an opportunity for growth and improvement.

Communication & Transparency: Your comments about the lack of town hall meetings and the need for more direct communication have been duly noted. We recognise how important it is for all employees to be kept informed and to feel connected to the direction of the business. Going forward, we are committed to strengthening our communications by ensuring clear, open lines of communication at all levels of the organisation, including regular SMG and Business Unit town halls, AMA sessions and other formats. Our goal is to create an environment where every employee is well informed and engaged in our collective mission and goals.

Work-Life Balance & Employee Well-being: The observation that profit motives are overshadowing employee well-being is deeply troubling. We are committed to ensuring that the strength of the company's performance does not compromise the health and well-being of our employees. This commitment includes providing great perks and benefits and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, which reinforces our belief that the happiness of our team is integral to our success.

Career Growth & Fair Treatment: The feeling of a lack of support for professional development and the perceived unfair treatment, particularly towards our more experienced colleagues, is something we take seriously. We aim to cultivate a culture where every team member, regardless of their age or position, feels valued, respected, and has equal opportunities for growth and advancement.

Company Culture & Values: It’s clear that there is a need to realign our actions with our core values. The perception of SMG as prioritizing profits over people is the antithesis of what we stand for. It's evident that our actions must reflect our core values. The notion that SMG puts profit before people is contrary to our core principles. While we set ambitious goals, strive to be bold and strive for excellence, we are committed to fostering an environment that promotes well-being, personal development and growth. Acting responsibly and collaboratively are key to realising our vision, and underscore the importance of balancing ambition with the well-being of our team.

We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss these points with you further, perhaps in a one-on-one meeting to gather more insights and suggestions.
Please feel free to reach out directly to your HR Business Partner or to tshidi.khunou@swissmarketplace.group or Lorena.Deimel@swissmarketplace.group if you wish to discuss this in more detail or have any additional feedback. Your voice is crucial in shaping a better SMG.Once again, thank you for your honesty and for your commitment to improving our workplace.

Warm regards
