Design Engineer- Round Tools

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Design and develop round cutting tools, solid carbide (SC) drills, based on application and customer requirements.
• Create and modify tool designs using specific software such as AutoCAD and Unigraphics
• Select appropriate carbide rods based on tool application, geometry, and cutting conditions.
• Recommend and collaborate on suitable coating solutions to enhance tool performance, tool life, and productivity.
• Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new tool designs.
• Work closely with manufacturing, application engineering, and quality teams to ensure design for manufacturability.
• Analyze machining results and continuously improve tool designs based on performance feedback.
• Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, technical documentation, and design records.

Profile & Requirements

• Technical knowledge on solid carbide tools - complete range and Micro tools experience is an added advantage
• Additional experience in Numroto, Tool studio, Toolroom, VG Pro software’s is an added advantage.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in design and development of round cutting tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering / production engineering or equivalent.
• Good Communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate ideas.
