My peers where all amazing individuals and skilled people and I learned a lot from them. I'm very thankful for the over 14 years I spent there and I miss being part of this amazing company and having the chance to help shaping it over this time.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
When I left the company was still a great place to work, but not for people (like me) who prefer to grow roots and having a deeper connection to what you are doing.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Invest in intercultural education for everyone, but especially in the higher management. It was a very very bad idea to concentrate C level management solely in the US, this destroyed what made Jumio successful and an extraordinary place to work.

This improved a lot in the last years, there is nothing I can complain about here.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
This is a mixed back. While you have plenty of freedom to learn and evolve as engineer and even switch between teams, there is not much opportunity for getting to a higher management position. Typically, it was preferred to bring external people in for higher positions then promoting someone.
Gehalt/Benefits
There was nothing to complain here.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
While environmental and social standards are high, green IT or environment friendly software design (energy/resource consumption) played no role in any design decisions.

I never in my life worked with a more team oriented and skilled people

As one of the "older colleagues", I can say that we were fully integrated. Age made no difference.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
I'm just talking about my immediate line managers, it's a bit different the higher you go up in the chain, but those line managers I had tried their very best to lead by example, empower their people to thrive and at the same time shield them from toxic politics.
Arbeitsbedingungen
This is a bit of a mixed bag for me. While the overall work experience was exceptional and I liked working there very much, the last years where always overshadowed with the sorrow that I could loose my job at any time and my performance or value for the company doesn't have much influence on that. That was also the reason why I resigned in the end, it destroyed me mentally and also made it hard for me to thrive. It felt like I can be laid off at any time without prewarning and I wanted to end it at my conditions.
Kommunikation
The management is trying to be transparent, but certain, very vital informations are communicated too late/not clearly.
Gleichberechtigung
At Jumio diversity is one of the guiding principles and I think they do a good job in living it.
Interessante Aufgaben
There is a very wide range of interesting and challenging tasks where one is also able to evolve as engineer.
