Verbesserungsvorschläge
Get rid of the current management. Understand that the STUDENTS COME FIRST. Understand that they should not squeeze every penny from the students, not all students are wealthy. Appreciate your work staff. Ensure that important decisions are not made on the whim of one-two people. There should be more checks and balances in place. This place has been going down hill since the new management took over.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Very high turnover rate in the last couple of years. Loss of institutional knowledge and often times work is shifted to those of us who are still here resulting in employees who are overworked and under payed. High rate of dissatisfaction among employees here. I left my job because of poor leadership.
Kommunikation
No communication whatsoever. Leadership uses intimidation tactics to get information about employees from other employees. Important matters are either not discussed or announced after the fact. Decisions are made by the top only. Not democratic at all. Very little awareness of hard work and efforts of employees. Dissatisfaction is made very clear. Leadership openly disparages and belittles staff in meetings and behind the backs of employees
Kollegenzusammenhalt
For the most part the staff at Webster (NOT THE MANAGEMENT) is made up of kind and hard working people. Unfortunately most don't manage to stay long due to the poor working conditions thanks to management.
Work-Life-Balance
Core hours are offered to employees allowing them some flexibility as long as they are in the office between 10-3pm. No home office opportunities, no work benefits or health benefits apart from health checks which were implemented by a more competent HR team from the past (not thanks to the current team)
Very little is done to ensure work life balance. Employees are contacted outside of working hours and in the past were asked to shift hours on their time sheet (illegal) if they worked more than 10 hours...not to get management in trouble.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Deplorable. Sexist, boysclub, bullies. Ignorant, incompetent. You should look into allegations of sexual harassment. Negative tone, speak down to employees, god like complex. Not leaders in any sense of the word. Many, many, many former employees have complained both to the AK and the main campus in St. Louis with absolutely no results... Very frustrating.
Interessante Aufgaben
The students are wonderful! The only reason one enjoys the job apart from the kind colleagues you work with as well (again, not including leadership). There is potential for great things to be done, too bad it is ruined by the poor work environment. Little is accomplished due to a lack of institutional knowledge (since most quit or are fired, again high turn over rate) or due to ignorance of leadership.
Gleichberechtigung
One needs to only look at the gender of those with high positions at the university. Leadership is comprised of all white, men and one woman. All head of the departments are men. All assistants are women. Very old school, very ignorant, very boys club. Welcome to the 21st century, these guys are still in 1933...
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
Openly disparage and speak poorly about the older employees. Very few older employees.

What more can be said that hasn't already been said. Very unhealthy working conditions due to the psychological games played by leadership. If you land a job here get ready to be bullied by your superiors.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Only recently has there been slightly more awareness for recycling and conscientious printing thanks to a graduate student who brought it to the attention of management.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
The pay is decent but lower on the scale in comparison to other colleagues in other universities in Austria. THERE IS NO TRANSPARENCY WITH PAY SCALES. This has been asked by employees for YEARS and has never been granted.

Webster has a very poor image here in Austria. Perception is that kids pay for their degree and all come from rich mommies and daddies and get what they want including an "American" degree. The management is really shooting themselves in the foot, they are building a reputation for themselves with their poor management/bad leadership skills. Other employers know how bad it is at Webster and are aware of the poor management. Why? Because former employees of Webster apply for other jobs and explain the situation to their new employers. Or perhaps they read the overwhelming negative reviews on here... Please question the validity of the positive reviews on here...
Karriere/Weiterbildung
No Weiterbildung opportunities offered. Staff and faculty has been discouraged to do weiterbildung or bildungskarenz because so many use this as an out/a way to leave the institution with time to find another job. One staffer was told she did not need to get a PhD because her current position didn't require a PhD... keep in mind this is an educational institution....
