A terrible corporate culture—everything is just for show. HR, as a business partner, is extremely unprofessional and highly questionable from an ethical standpoint. Despite the good pay, it’s an awful company to work at. I can only recommend to everyone: stay away from Biogen and apply somewhere else.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Replace HR entirely with truly competent people so that the corporate culture can be deliberately steered back in a positive direction. Some people in management would certainly need to be replaced as well.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
An extremely bad atmosphere characterized by mistrust and fear. HR managers are not your supporters; their behavior is truly unethical, and they lie to you extensively. In doing so, they come across as extremely unprofessional and driven by personal insecurities. I have never seen anything like this in a company before.
Work-Life-Balance
Not really a good work-life balance, as the intense pressure means you constantly have to respond and keep working.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
As mentioned, there is a lot of cronyism and favoritism in the company. If you move within these circles, you have good chances for career development—otherwise, you don’t. HR is absolutely not a promoter of employees.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
There is a lot of competition and resentment. Everyone behaves very selfishly—which means there isn’t really a good culture or strong team cohesion. The company is under massive top-down pressure, which is felt even by those at the very bottom of the employee hierarchy.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Unethical, unprofessional, and very rarely good.
Kommunikation
The communication is poor and very condescending. There is no opportunity to have discussions on equal footing or to provide feedback without being punished afterward. Meetings, for example, are opened with threats if employees do not follow the “orders.” And this comes from senior staff or HR. It’s insane!
Gehalt/Benefits
Very good salary and benefits. However, you have to think of the pay as compensation for the pain.

At first, I thought it was a great company with interesting tasks and projects—but those are only assigned to people who are part of the inner circle.
