Unfortunately, very little. Aside from individual frontline colleagues trying their best under challenging conditions, there are no notable positive aspects regarding leadership, equity, corporate culture, or employee development.
Severe lack of workplace equity, opaque management practices, and zero job security for non-networked employees. The company operates under clear double standards, where promotions, key account assignments, and employment continuity heavily favor closed internal networks. Non-Indian and local professionals face disproportionate exit pressures, terminations, and exclusion. Furthermore, statutory Swiss labor standards regarding working hours and accrued leave are ignored.
Implement objective, transparent, and audited criteria for promotions, project allocations, and employment continuity. Diversify local management to establish genuine workplace equity, adhere strictly to Swiss labor standards regarding working hours and statutory leave, and create independent HR reporting channels free from account management influence.
The overall work environment is heavily impacted by unequal treatment and underlying tension. Instead of a collaborative, inclusive environment, there is a clear divide created by preferential treatment toward specific internal networks. Psychological safety is low for non-networked employees due to continuous uncertainty around job stability, project security, and fair evaluation.
The external public branding presents a picture of modern digital transformation and global inclusion, but internal operations completely contradict this image. On the ground in Switzerland, the employer brand suffers from high turnover, closed management networks, and a reputation for unequal employee treatment.
Work-life balance is practically non-existent due to excessive workloads and continuous staffing pressures. Employees routinely accumulate vast amounts of unused annual leave—often reaching up to three years of accrued vacation—because operational demands prevent them from taking time off. This failure to enforce mandatory rest periods violates basic Swiss labor standards and creates severe long-term burnout.
career progression is opaque and heavily restricted by internal network affiliations rather than individual performance, certifications, or technical output. Advancement paths are strictly gatekept, while genuine skill development and local talent growth are disregarded. External training budgets exist primarily on paper, and long-term career growth for non-networked employees is practically non-existent.
Salaries do not reflect Swiss market standards or local cost of living. Compensation policies are opaque, with noticeable pay disparities between internal management circles and non-networked employees. Furthermore, overtime (Art. 321c CO) and extra billable hours are routinely left uncompensated or unacknowledged, making the overall remuneration package significantly below industry standards.
Corporate social responsibility is purely a marketing narrative with little reality behind it. Social responsibility begins with how an employer treats its human capital, yet the company demonstrates zero commitment to workplace ethics, long-term employee welfare, or equal treatment. Internal practices prioritize short-term profit margins over social sustainability and fair labor standards.
Team spirit is severely fragmented. While direct individual peers often try to support each other, overall unity is undermined by structural division and favoritism. Management practices foster a divided environment where collaboration is replaced by internal politics, making genuine, cross-team camaraderie difficult to sustain.
Experience, local market knowledge, and long-standing tenure are given very little value by management. Experienced older employees are routinely bypassed for key roles or career growth in favor of internal network preferences. Rather than leveraging senior expertise, the organization frequently pressures long-tenured staff out through restructuring, role reallocation, or arbitrary termination.
Management style is highly authoritative, opaque, and driven by internal alliances rather than objective leadership. Superior-subordinate relationships are heavily influenced by favoritism, where performance and qualifications take a back seat to personal networks. Constructive feedback is rarely welcomed, and leadership fails to act fairly or protect employees from structural bias.
Working conditions are severely compromised by resource constraints, chronic understaffing, and unrealistic deliverables. Infrastructure, operational tools, and administrative support are poorly maintained, forcing employees to spend unnecessary time navigating internal bureaucracy. High workload expectations combined with poor structural support create an inefficient and high-stress environment. the person in IT is often rude because he does the job for 3 people.
Communication is highly top-down, opaque, and reactive. Strategic decisions, project reallocations, and policy updates are kept strictly within management circles with little to no genuine transparency. Open feedback is discouraged, and critical inquiries regarding fairness, career progression, or structural changes are often deflected rather than addressed.
Equal opportunity exists only on paper. In practice, there is a clear two-tier system where career advancement, project allocations, and job retention strictly favor specific internal networks. Non-Indian and local professionals face disproportionate exit pressures and are systematically excluded from key roles, regardless of performance, qualifications, or tenure.
no the swiss sales people are all fired and the indian salespeople can not bring interesting work to the company only whats cheap and what is left
That they paid
The worst of indian culture being imposed in a racist way inside Switzerland
Hire more locals or at least respect the L permit correct usage
If you are not indian, you are in hell!
In India might be good
Indian fashion way
Courses for the indian bosses to pretend they are teaching
Only good part is the money; benefit is being cut
To integrate they had a cricket tournament… need I say more?
Indians take L permit (God knows how!) locals are fired even when they are retiring or sick
Always afraid
Indians being racists to locals! A boss at a bank actually hired his wife to spy on us; nobody knew they were married outside the indian group. Inside a Swiss institution!
You are in Zürich feeling like you are in Kolkota
Indian bossy way
Like in India
Horrible HR; ran from the irish baldy
Nothing really
How Switzerland was dominated by Indian colleagues
It’s so discriminatory with the Indians that nothing can be done
Terrible and Indian dominated
There are people with 70 days of vacation
Every man for himself
Toxicity the last years because of discrimination
Nope tedious
Absolutely no procedures about handling cases of violence at a workplace. Unless we call silencing victims a procedure.
I reported repeated inappropriate workplace behavior and provided written evidence. Despite multiple discussions, I did not feel the issue was resolved satisfactorily, and I ultimately felt unsupported by the process.
This experience had a significant impact on my trust in the organization and my overall experience as an employee.
Client will dump all the work on you and have their employees blowing bubbles through the nose.
Theoretical trainings of non existent quality, you won't have time for anyway.
They pay insurance, that's the only upside.
Lol
Walls have ears and everyone sides with the stronger one.
Terrible. Eat or be eaten kind of approach so people close to the retirement age are after targeted too.
Lies lies and lies. Just look after your own interests and don't trust anyone.
Haha, is that a joke?
Null
I always liked the international atmosphere. Now it is like working in Pune.
The preference given to Indians over anybody else in Zürich!
Do not be just a company to arrange Swiss Visas for your fellow Indians from the same caste. That is disgusting. Everyone leaving is talking about that.
Indians are explored but still they prefer that than being back home. The rest is being treated like that: like rest.
"Hiring someone in Switzerland is still more expensive than bringing people from India". When not talking among themselves on their language, that's what some managers say. Some people already recorded that and sent to UNIA. That's the image now.
Your Indian boss (rare cases you will have an European boss in IT) must either be from your caste or be afraid of you making him lose his Swiss Visa. Otherwise, you will have to stay longer even when not needed.
Courses just to make number and show to the bosses in India how cheaper it is to bring them here.
In 2024 we were informed in the most pathetic meeting (the HR lady was even laughing; invitation sent on the last minute) that we lost the best benefit (health care). Everybody in Switzerland is making less money in Cognizant in 2025.
HR will make some "running for cancer", a "brunch for ladies" and then you see that when people are fired from the bench, usually they are not Indians. So, social is for a very selective environment.
Days ago there was a cricket event, organized by the Swiss HR. CRICKET! Perfect sport to include the Swiss and other Europeans right? Take a look at the picture of the event and you will not be surprised.
As long as you are Indian, you will not have issues. But as an European, I would advise you to learn Hindi, Bengali, Telugu. Otherwise, half of the interactions you will miss.
The Management in Switzerland changed a lot last year. The previous local Manager not even sent good bye! It is sad to see a Swiss being treated like a lower caste Indian. And that is how our local manager is treated. No self value.
There is ONE guy answering for ALL the helpdesk. He is not Indian and is too much integrated in Switzerland. So our bet is that he might be soon replaced by 3 cheaper. For the moment, he is being made miserable first.
"Sign or be fired". That was the very polite written proposal to have the health insurance cut in Switzerland last year. One HR lady was even laughing.
You can be well treated if you are Indian; but still not totally guaranteed.
If you are lucky, it will depend on the customer.
So verdient kununu Geld.
