Stop treating your employees like they are disposable. In the last year alone, your actions have driven out countless extremely knowledgeable people. Some of these were the only ones with knowledge in their field. Precious time and money is wasted training up new employees instead of doing something to keep the ones you have.

MOTIVATION is the key word. Absolutely nobody is motivated because they have no reasons to be. Nobody feels appreciated.

• Christmas party cancelled.
• Home office cancelled – Zero trust in the workforce.
• No training/development prospects - No clear development path
• No financial incentives, no status incentives.

Provide some reasons for us to be motivated and we will lift this company out of the gutter.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Generally pessimistic atmosphere throughout the company. Poor management decisions have caused the company to hemorrhage money in the last few years.

Employee turnover is at an all-time high. Its a repetitive cycle. Hire a new employee, give them a below average salary and few opportunities for career progression. Throw them in at the deep end with very little training. After 1-2 years the employee has gained experience and asks for a raise which is rejected. The employee finds a new company that will pay them what they are worth and offers real benefits such as fitness discounts, travel discounts, free fruit/coffee etc. The employee leaves along with all the knowledge they have accumulated. The cycle starts again.

If you are a great worker and can endure this for a while, you will be rewarded with more work because your team members have left and you are now the only capable person.

Kommunikation

Egregious!

At the end of October, 30 jobs were cut, home office was banned, and the Christmas party was cancelled to save money. The information spread firstly by word of mouth and rumors instead of being communicated officially by email. Some people were informed about their dismissal by fellow employees and had to go to HR for confirmation.

No explanation given about what mistakes were made by management to get us into this situation. No information about why the CTO just walked out. Instead, the only communication received was used to explain what sacrifices the employees will need to make to turn the company around.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

Intra group cohesion is surprisingly good considering the circumstances. Inter group cohesion has suffered. Motivation is extremely low, so nobody wants to take responsibility for their tasks. Especially tasks that belong to a different area.

Work-Life-Balance

The term ‘Work-Life-Balance’ has not been mentioned by any HR person or member of upper management in the last number of years. There is nothing on the company portal to promote this.

Home office was cancelled with no explanation as to how this will benefit the “company turnaround”. This just proves that management don’t trust their employees. For employees with children or those who commute long distances to work it is impossible to have a work-life balance.

This has further exacerbated the problem with lack of motivation. Employees don’t feel trusted or valued so they simply don’t want to work. There is some flexibility with working start/finish times but it doesn't equate to 'Work-Life-Balance’.

Usually quite good. They are doing the best they can with the limited information and resources they have been provided.

Interessante Aufgaben

One of few positives is the interesting technology we make. Every day there is a new challenge which keeps things exciting and draws attention away from the negativity.

Good equality within the company.

Older colleagues are treated well and are held in very high regard due to their abundance of knowledge. This is particularly important due to the high employee turnover. If these colleagues leave/retire, copious amounts of knowledge leaves with them.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Good. Modern buildings and office spaces.

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Salaries are average, benefits are poor, and the bonus has been poor despite the industry booming during COVID. The company lists “free parking in the nearby garage” and “bus stop next to office” as benefits on the careers page. These are necessities, not benefits. Hybrid working is no longer offered as a benefit. No fitness/wellness contribution, no commuting/travel benefits, free fruit/coffee (to promote longer working hours) is not offered.

This used to be great but has tarnished in recent years. Friends working for neighboring companies are all aware of the turmoil within Evatec. Our customers constantly face lengthy delays and word has spread to other major customers about Evatecs' incompetence and lack of reliability.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

No clear path for career progression. If you are lucky to be in a subordinate position when somebody leaves then you might be promoted by default.
There is no structure in place to promote hard work. There is no clear path to individual success to benefit monetarily or increase seniority.

Motivation would be higher if employees had clear goals every year that if met, would guarantee a small pay rise and potentially a status increase. Individual outstanding achievements are not rewarded. The company doesn’t care about rewarding hard work therefore nobody works hard. Nobody goes the extra mile for their colleagues.

Very few external training courses are offered. All of which have been cancelled due to budget constraints. Internal training courses are offered but they are all specific to Evatec processes or machinery, therefore can’t be considered as career progressing.
