Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
The flexibility of the organization and the possibility of exchanging ideas on all kinds of subjects. Eversheds Sutherland is not set up in rigid silos. It offers the comfort of a medium-sized structure with the advantages of a large group, notably in terms of knowledge, quality of mandates, etc. The firm also organizes events where all the staff get together, which allows us to exchange with other offices. Finally, it's also possible to work partly from home if the organization of work doesn't stand in the way, which is appreciated.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Nothing. When I applied I was expecting a big American-style structure, but it's nothing of the sort. The image is misleading and I don't regret my choice for a second.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
Strengthen support functions (IT, administration, etc.), for greater efficiency.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The working atmosphere is excellent. No competitiveness at all costs, just the pleasure of constructive exchange and development.
Kommunikation
Despite having four separate offices, communication is excellent and messages are delivered on time.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Communication with colleagues is very good, not least because there's no competition between us. Exchanges are constructive and help everyone to evolve.
Work-Life-Balance
Excellent overall. Much better than other studies I've worked in. Sometimes you have to make an effort over and above office hours, but that's what the job calls for.
Interessante Aufgaben
There's always a discussion about availability, and the work is distributed fairly. The mandates are very interesting and varied. What's more, knowledge is easily accessible, and if you're interested in a field that isn't necessarily your own, you can easily find out more.
Gleichberechtigung
Gender equality is clearly not an issue in this law firm. I've never felt discriminated against and, on the contrary, I've always been encouraged to evolve.
Umgang mit älteren Kollegen
There is very little turnover among the firm's associates, some of whom have been with the firm for many years. As far as I'm concerned, nothing stands in the way of my career development.

Overall, the premises are quite decent and very well located. The IT is not state-of-the-art, but everything works well.

Yes, the Eversheds Sutherland takes steps to encourage rail travel for example, by financing half-fare passes for lawyers.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Salaries are decent, but lower than those paid by other law firms of similar size. On the other hand, the quality of the working atmosphere, and in particular the absence of excessive pressure in terms of billable hours, more than compensate (in my opinion) for this difference in salary. The pension fund is not great.
