Experis, exploiting you with a smile
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Can be a good entry point into the Swiss job market. Although I would recommend most of the other recruitment agencies in the city instead of Experis is that's your goal.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
I've never been lied to by the management and by some commission-hungry colleagues that much as at Experis. Of course they'll say "... it was just a misunderstanding".
The life of a recruiter at Experis can be very hard, 90% of the people I've worked with on recruiter-level have left the company feeling extremely negative about Experis as their former employer. Please do the check yourself and ask any former employee.
To fill these gaps on recruiter-level, their business model is to get new people in (at the bottom/operating level of the organisation) for a low salary, give them a bit of training and to continue just as before, ignoring anyone that is complaining. I'm afraid this will go on for a long time...
Verbesserungsvorschläge
I stopped trying to give advice to management a long long time ago... They have proven to be very skilled at neglecting what doesn't fit their 80'ies UK-way of running a recruitment business.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
Most recruiters are unhappy because of the way they are treated, most consultants are happy as long as the commission is good.
Kommunikation
One never knows if top-down communication is honest or not (unfortunately, more often than not, people are lied to)
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Amongst some trustworthy colleagues, the atmosphere is great. Also, some ex-Experis CH peole stick together for years after leaving the company. Having experienced heavy and stressful times together creates a strong sense of connection amongst people.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
The concept that the Swiss management is following to run the business is outdated and 100% focused on profit / 0% on the people doing the actual work.
Interessante Aufgaben
Recruitment tasks are fun, people discretely calling their own cell phone to reach the activity targets (e.g. 'daily time spent on the phone') is less interesting to say the least. Unfortunately I wasted a lot of time doing meaningless tasks during my years at Experis....
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Depends, for recruiters is far below average (although they will tell you it's very fair and market conform), for consultants it can be fine if negotiated well.
Image
Since they treat a lot of people poorly, and since the recruitment scene in the city is not that big, they are struggling a lot with their image. Although management in CH is not aware of that, they only see what they want to see (it has been like that for years already)
Karriere/Weiterbildung
Spending some time a recruiter can be a good entry to the Swiss job market, although I wouldn't recommend at all !
