To drive our continuous organic growth, we are constantly looking for highly qualified professionals. For our Group Intellectual Property team in Bubendorf/BL, we are seeking a highly skilled Patent Counsel (a), 80 - 100%. To support and protect our innovation-driven business, the Group Intellectual Property plays a pivotal role in securing competitive advantages, supporting technological progress, and creating long-term value across the organization.

In this highly visible role, you will work closely with scientists, R&D teams, and business stakeholders across the organization. Your responsibilities will span the full spectrum of intellectual property activities, including invention harvesting, patent drafting, and global patent prosecution. In addition, you will serve as a trusted advisor on IP-related matters, providing practical and business-oriented guidance to internal partners and helping to shape the company's innovation strategy in a dynamic and rapidly growing environment. Your tasks:

• Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and scientists to identify potentially patentable inventions
• Conduct patentability searches
• Provide strategic advice on optimal protection routes
• Guide inventors in documenting inventions and preparing high-quality invention disclosures
• Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications to secure and maintain IP protection worldwide
• Manage and instruct external patent counsel as appropriate
• Instruct and supervise FTO searches
• Conduct freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses and assess third-party rights.
• Advice on infringement risks and measures for risk mitigation.
• Draft contractual positions and advice on IP related matters

Your profile:

• Qualification as a European Patent Attorney
• A strong scientific background in chemistry or a closely related discipline
• Proven experience in patent prosecution
• Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating IP-related agreements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
• Team player with the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment
• Excellent communication skills in English and German
