Food waste management, chance to work as a tournant sometimes, nice canteen and break rooms, fair time stamping system and process.
They act very cheap to the employees for that they represent. Superiors rarely say a good work to a person, there is too much internal talking, like backstabing, even from the superiors or their little circle. Too much gossip too less respect for the employees.
be more open to hear complains about the superiors. Just because they are the bosses doesnt mean they are good people or treat others fairly.
Not a very fair atmosphere especially towards women. Superiors were praised too much by employees, and if you were not a praiser you were an outsider.
Most employees would speak well enough, especially the older ones. New employees would not speak bad, but would often point out unfair situations, irregular and unfair salary comparing to other employees etc. The image does not match reality very well.
we would receive a plan of who is working nights every week and in the high season everyone was working nights everyday, even until 12 or 1 at night. When things would be more chill they would make us leave early. I did not like that because i could not plan properly, but i think it was fair that we leave early because of the overhours, just not by force, and maybe by schedule.
If you are in good terms with the superiors you might be able to get a higher role. They have a very good system for interns, but even the continuing education that they offer was really offered in very specific people.
salary was okay, could be better regarding the workload and responsibilities of the role, in general they were quite cheap for the image that they represent. Benefits were offered but never used as most of them were very irrelevant ad taking place mostly in France, we didnt have benefits directly to the local market etc. We did receive a bonus but it was a very small amount considering again their reputation and the money they make.
We had a very good food waste schedule and awareness, as well as some enviromental recognition
Colleague situation was not easy as they were not so used to direct communication during stress and high pressure. Too many personal problems getting in the way and affecting our work.
Older workers were rarely getting promoted but so was everyone else. We had 2 employees leave, they worked there for 10 years and never saw a promotions or a better bonus. I was told in the interview that a raise would be possible after 4 or 5 years.
Goals were not so realistic, superiors had a huge lack of empathy or even human sense, they were not polite at times and had a specific grudge or disliked specific people just for what they were or how they worked. They took advantage of their position to make people feel smaller, specifically towards women of young age.
Work conditions were good. The pastry department where i worked, was a bit isolated from the kitchen and we had to share important equipment like schokers, with the kitchen, which was extremely difficult as it was also more far away but mostly always oqupied. The pastry freezer was very big but was unfortunately shared wiht the kitchen even though they had more, which was creating a chaos all the time. Otherwise we had good machines and when something was needed we would get it soon enough.
Personally i did not receive proper standards expectations but i was expected to fulfill them, even after the first mistake the guidelines were not clear and were changing all the time. Th superiors would not communicate it directly but through our imidiate chef which was not particularly good because of the message transferring. Everything was lost in translation as i later realised how bad they were expressing themselves and yet how politely and friendly the imediate boss translated the facts.
Women were for sure underrated in this facility. Its is unfortunate as they had picked a woman to be boss in a very young age, just for the superiors to be able to manipulate her and make her feel uncomfortable to speak up or stand up. Superiors behavior was reported to the HR where the man in charge defended their behavior after saying he is aware of it and it is getting handled.
There were interesting tasks but the recipe developemnt was a huge problem as the imdediate boss did not have proper experience, so we would have to improvise or even give our own recipies in order to have a good result. The menu was changing every season, interesting desserts but the boss would create the titles without apparently thinking much of the assembly.
Very fair, fun teams, good food for staff
Too much gossiping and sometimes roomers
Better internal communication system
