Working atmosphere
I think Liip could work a bit more on showing appreciation where it's due. But in general I think it is a good working atmosphere where I could feel trusted and fairly treated.
Image
A lot of people in Switzerland heard of Liip and have a positive response to me having worked there.
Work-Life Balance
There is extra parental benefits and Liip shows that they care about families. They support people having a family. There has been pressure to work long hours from time to time, but this is more from individual roles and does not reflect the company that in overall cares.
Liip also has absolutely no problem with people working part time, 80% is extremely common and may even be standard? This fosters a really good work environment.
Environmental and social responsibility
Sustainability feels like it is in the core of Liip.
Collegiality
Overall, people at Liip has been lovely to work with and we have had a good collaboration and communication. There has been times where teams have been thrown together and suffered a bit from having to quickly find ways to communicate, but this has been rare in my time there and is an exception rather than a rule.
Interaction with older colleagues
Most are not older, neither am I, so I can not properly judge this. I like to think that there is no age discrimination at Liip.
Leadership behavior
It is difficult to balance Leadership behaviour in a company with holacracy where in theory the employees have a say about everything, but in practise we are often surprised by decisions we did not know about in advance.
In general: I do believe leadership always act with the best interest of the company in mind, but they do need to show some more empathy at times.
Working conditions
In summer the offices can get warm, but we do get to work from home if it is unbearable :)
Communication
Internal communication has on times had things to wish for. There has been confusion and sometimes a bit of a mess in the past, leading to unnecessary worries and rumours.
BUT what is really positive is that it is always cleared up in the end, therefore despite the worries sometimes, I still give Liip a 4 star rating here.
Equality
I have rarely seen any signs of gender discrimination at Liip. They also have a behaviour charter to help guide people in the right direction.
This is a topic that Liip cares about deeply and it shows. I would recommend Liip to any women and not-cis-men that are worried about this.
I did like that the salary system largely benefited people that normally do not speak up, which includes many women as we are socially trained that way. BUT there are still elements of having to be good at advocating for oneself, which may be uncomfortable for some people, especially minority groups.
Interesting tasks
Not everything at work can be interesting, but I feel there has during most of my time at Liip been interesting work to do.

I don't recommend Liip anymore. There was a large cultural shift.

What I like about the employer
It was good in the past.
Suggestions for improvement
I think you need to step back a bit and find or cultivate people who know how to run a company of this size, without sacrificing its values.
Working atmosphere
I think it's bad because of the recent measures and firings.
Image
I think it's not as good as it used to be.
Environmental and social responsibility
It was good but with the AI shift not believable anymore.
Leadership behavior
In my view it's chaotic without a strategy and plenty of shortsightedness and people who are at the bottom are I think paying the price for it. I don't see any accountability for bad decisions. I also think that the behavior of one particular founder should be improved.
Communication
I think the top down communication is very bad.
Salary/Social benefits
The decisions made in the salary conferences seem to be arbitrary.

Dear colleague,
Your feedback makes us concerned.
As an agile and holocratic digital agency we strive to improve continuously, with clear and transparent processes and methods, where you can address tensions to roles dedicated to employees health or within the system itself.
In our compensation system, Liipers take primary responsibility for their salary through self-evaluation, peer evaluations, and roles that are responsible for internal equity.
Decisions are not made top-down but by people in roles. All employees have a shared responsibility in the self-organization.
If I can be of any help in easing your tensions, please feel free to approach me.
Kind regards, Nadja

What I like about the employer
When I first met Liip, it was love at first sight. Back then I was a client of Liip. The collaboration with the project team was awesome and the work done great. At that time, I said to myself that one day I’ll have to join this so inspiring and so empowering company.
I joined Liip a bit more than a year ago. And I am still in the honeymoon phase. Onboarding was very smooth – even if I joined a team spread across several locations. Within my team, I experienced the perfect balance between coaching and independence work on each project I take over or launch. Within my location (where no of my teammates are located), I felt very welcomed too, and very quickly super well integrated. Countless activities are organised by the Liipers to foster human interactions and a good mood.
I could go on for a while. As a wrap up, I would say that I love my colleagues, my projects, the culture and conditions. I feel lucky and grateful for this incredible work and life experience.
Working atmosphere
Liip provides the caring working environment I was looking for – where actions are taken to make me feel good at work. Sport courses, massages, breakfasts and end-of-the-day-cheerful-gatherings. I also like my standing desk very much. On a personal level, I feel listened to and valued. I have a voice within the company and can take initiatives.
Image
Before joining Liip, I built myself a picture of the company. Now that I am Liiper myself, it’s exactly as I imagined. Transparency, equality, empowerment, flexibility, agility are really lived and nurtured. I also feel very connected to the values and principles of the company. Which is really important to me in order to deliver qualitative work.
Work-Life Balance
I chose to work at a 100% rate even if I had – and still have – the possibility to lower my occupation rate. I like the freedom I have regarding working hours. I’m involved in an association (outside of Liip) and it has never been an issue to be off a couple of hours here and then during the day.

Viel Autonomie und Gestaltungsfreiheit

EmployeeWorked at Liip AG in Freiburg, Kanton Freiburg at the time of review.
What I like about the employer
Work-Life Balance

Multiple Review
EmployeeWorked at Liip AG in Zürich, Kanton Zürich at the time of review and has submitted multiple reviews for this employer. (Employees are allowed to review once per year.)
Working atmosphere
Image
Viele Awards (Best of Swiss Web, etc)
Work-Life Balance
Salary/Social benefits
Sehr gute Leistungen für Eltern
Environmental and social responsibility
Interaction with older colleagues

What I like about the employer
Freedom, purpose, passion.
Working atmosphere
Great vibes, talented and passionate people, open, trustworthy and friendly. You feel taken care of - sports offerings, massages, company events, and a great atmosphere.
Work-Life Balance
Work is hybrid and following self-organisation you can make your own hours. Personal commitments are respected.
Career/Professional development
You have an educational budget in amounts of money and hours that can be spent furthering your knowledge. You also can choose a mentor to help you further build your expertise or work competencies.
Salary/Social benefits
Salary could be better. But you get immaterial benefits like freedom, a great work environment, work-life balance, self-organization. Depends what you prioritise. The salary is transparent, so you know what everyone earns (not a taboo topic). There is no difference between genders, which is great.
Environmental and social responsibility
Sustainability, inclusivity, and diversity are not just buzzwords. Great lengths are taken to improve the company's sustainability.
Collegiality
Teams are friendly and open to collaboration. You are constantly meeting new people due to the 6 offices around Switzerland.
Leadership behavior
The company is self-organised and there are no managers, so you have full freedom - but also full responsibilities ;)
Communication
Communication is open, mistakes are accepted and addressed instead of swept under the rug.
