Sulzer is profit driven organization and that means money over people. Employees report that they were asked to work less then 100% in covid times, even though they had a lot of projects going on, to fully keep them busy. But the company wanted to cash in from the government, when they saw the opportunity coming. And they did. Afterward Sulzer decided to dismiss many employees as they call it “reduce the headcount”. Staff who have spent many years in the company were fired for absolutely no reason, even though some of them had only few years to work until their retirement. Later this year Sulzer paid record high dividends to their shareholders though.

• Manipulation of numbers
Again, as a profit driven organization, Sulzer tries to deliver right numbers at the right time. Employees report that in the end of the year they were asked to accelerate their projects just to deliver the right numbers to the management even at cost of the unnecessary increase of their workload and unnecessary generated expenditures. Employees report that across the company. This is how Sulzer tries to manipulate numbers by all means. Some former managers report that Sulzer’s leadership also provides management with incentives to do so.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Former employees report that Sulzer’s Management is absolutely incapable of leadership and management. Same people also report that it would not make any difference in business if entire management would quit their jobs. However, what they are good at is not being accountable for their wrongdoings, blaming others for their failures and firing people if the numbers are wrong and the business experiences downturn. Furthermore, management is hired without consulting the team even though new leaders lack all skills one leader should have.

As an old and experienced employer you are most likely the first who will be fired in case numbers are wrong.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

As far as credible sources report, the polymer department delivers only low-quality products. Nearly all customers reported issues with their delivered equipment. The lack of quality comes from department policy to save money where possible which concerns suppliers, inspections and quality assurance personnel. Sulzer’s extrusion lines failed to function properly and due to high turnover in personnel there are no experts at Sulzer who could fix these issues which results in total customer dissatisfaction.
