Good company for a first job with a high learning curve and a nice team
Arbeitsatmosphäre
The working atmosphere in my team is very positive. You can learn a lot from each other, because colleagues have different backgrounds and strengths. There is an intention to take time to talk and exchange ideas with colleagues. However, this is only possible if the current project allows it, which always varies.
Kommunikation
Communication with one's own manager and the respective project managers is fine. However, there could be more transparency and better communication within the company. That is, between the headquarters in Paris and the individual business units.
This starts with clear processes for promotion, salary increases and bonus, because each manager and each office handles this differently.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
The team of consultants and business developers is super nice and open. However, some managers have very high expectations and one can feel a bit pressured, especially during the probationary period.
Work-Life-Balance
Wenn man von Anfang an klare Grenzen setzt, kann man einen Arbeitstag von 9-18 Uhr gut einhalten. Dann sind Überstunden eher eine Ausnahme. Dies ist in der Beratungsbranche nicht immer der Fall. Die guten Arbeitszeiten rechtfertigen dann das im Branchenvergleich eher unterdurchschnittliche Gehalt.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
If you set clear limits right from the start, you can easily stick to a working day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Then overtime tends to be an exception. This is not always the case in the consulting industry. The good working hours then justify the rather below-average salary compared to the rest of the industry.
Interessante Aufgaben
The projects at Alcimed in Cologne are mostly in the healthcare sector and very diverse. Of course, there are sometimes projects in which you have less interest, but this can be made up for with the next project. The projects are of different nature and revolve around very different indications.
Arbeitsbedingungen
In the open-plan office, people are mindful of each other and it's a good place to work during the day. However, there are often not enough meeting rooms, especially when everyone is in the office. The phone booths for project interviews are a bit small and stuffy, but this is currently being worked on. There is a will for improvement shown here.
Unfortunately, the home office option is currently limited to 1 1/2 days and we hope to get permission for 2 days from management in Paris in the coming year.
Gehalt/Sozialleistungen
Salary quite below average for the industry, but okay for a first job.
Unfortunately, there are no social benefits or benefits, but we have some team events.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
The internal training is currently not ideal, but after each training the feedback is taken seriously and new programs are developed. Unfortunately, there is no time for further development between projects, because projects often start seamlessly one after the other or you have several projects at once.
