Small and motivated Startup Team with Cultural Growing Pains

The company brings together a group of highly driven founders and employees who are truly dedicated to pushing things forward. The remote-first setup works well and gives employees real flexibility and autonomy in how they structure their work. Pay and benefits were fair, and the extra perks like a job ticket or fitness allowance were nice additions. There is a strong sense of ambition and drive across the entire team, which can be inspiring.

From my personal experience, I found the way employees were treated and managed quite challenging. Respectful and appreciative communication was often lacking, and there was a noticeable tendency toward micromanagement which made it hard to feel trusted or valued for one’s expertise. Input from employees was frequently dismissed rather than encouraged, and there seemed to be a strong “company first, people second” mentality guiding decisions and interactions. Diversity—in thought, personality, or background—was not genuinely welcomed, which limited both collaboration and creativity. While I believe the intentions behind the company’s goals were positive, the day-to-day interactions often did not reflect a healthy or supportive work environment and the way people are treated made it a difficult and unsustainable environment for me.
