Verbesserungsvorschläge

Take steps against the toxic behaviour that some individuals bring to the work environment. Improve the office, particularly the acoustics. If the large open room with 30 people is not suitable for focused work and better acoustics, even consider moving to a more appropriate office.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Weird atmosphere Very surprising that most people don't even greet each other. Maybe that's because almost the whole office is just one huge room and it would be too much effort to greet everyone? Some people are nice and helpful, but there are also people that make you feel bad when you talk to them. I have even been yelled at when asking to borrow a development board for absolutely no reason. I noticed that guy yelling at other people for no reason too though, so it wasn't about me.

Work-Life-Balance

Quite ok overall. There are core working hours. Home office rules are very strict, there is almost no home office.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

It really depends on who you work with. There are some really nice people, but if you're unlucky, people you have to cooperate with will be more challenging than the actual work itself.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

This aspect was by far the worst. There was a clear lack of respect: sometimes, the supervisor wouldn't even make eye contact during conversations, continuing to work with body language and voice that essentially signaled "don't bother me". Obviously coordinating with your supervisor is unavoidable, so it is impossible to escape this issue. Ironically, taking initiative and trying to accomplish tasks often led to friction. In contrast, doing nothing was best, as it saved you from nonsensical conflicts. For anyone who’s motivated to contribute and get things done, this environment is toxic. Obviously not all supervisors are like that of course.

Arbeitsbedingungen

It's way too loud. There are more than 25 people in one room. Also this room is a hallway too. It would be common sense to at least install sound absorbing acoustic panels, but obviously this would be quite costly. While the salary is kind of ok, there is little to no investment in creating a comfortable working environment. Some people have standing desks, some don't. Some have proper standing desks, some have cheap 100€ china rubbish that will cut into your underarm skin with its sharp edges. There is only one sink in only one kitchen, but there are maybe 40-50 people in that office.

Kommunikation

There is goodwill and efforts are being made to try and inform everyone about the company's current status and ongoing projects. Still, I didn't feel well infomed, especially about my own projects due to my supervisor (see below).

Gehalt/Benefits

Slightly below average I think. Not great, not terrible. But then again there is little to no investment in the office itself and thus no investment in comfortable working conditions.

Gleichberechtigung

Two females were fired with a hard to trust rationale.

Interessante Aufgaben

In general the tasks and topics are interesting and with the right setting and colleagues they would be fun to work on. Many times it happened to me that my supervisor asked me to do isolated and absolutely nonsensical work. Nobody cared about the results. Or if and when I finished the "tasks".

Dear former colleague,

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed and honest feedback. We truly appreciate your insights and regret to hear that your experience at deveritec did not meet your expectations.

We're glad to hear that you found the tasks and topics generally interesting and recognized our efforts to inform the team about ongoing projects. We’re also pleased that you considered the work-life balance to be quite okay.

That said, your critical feedback—especially regarding leadership behavior, communication, and the working environment—gives us important food for thought. We take these concerns very seriously.

Your comments about your supervisor are particularly concerning. At deveritec, we are committed to creating a respectful and collaborative work environment. We regularly train our managers to support their teams in the best possible way. We’re truly sorry to hear that you had a negative experience in this area. In such cases, we encourage employees to reach out—whether to a trusted colleague, HR, or via our anonymous compliance tool—so we can take appropriate action. Unfortunately, without such information during your time with us, we were not in a position to intervene.

We were also surprised to read about your impression of a toxic atmosphere. In our regular feedback sessions, probation reviews, and annual development meetings, our working culture and team spirit are typically highlighted as very positive. Nevertheless, we understand that individual experiences can differ, and we are taking your feedback seriously to re-evaluate how we can support even stronger team cohesion.

Regarding the office environment and acoustics: your input confirms feedback we've heard from others, and we are currently evaluating ways to improve the situation—both through technical solutions and by reconsidering our spatial concept. We agree that focused work requires appropriate conditions.

On the topic of equality and terminations: please understand that for data protection and privacy reasons, we cannot and will not comment on individual personnel decisions. These are always handled with great care to protect the personal rights of the persons concerned. However, I can assure you that we do not make such decisions lightly and weigh up the reasons carefully.

If you'd like to speak with us directly and confidentially, please feel free to contact me at hr@deveritec.com. We're always open to dialogue.

We wish you all the best for your future—both professionally and personally.

Best regards,
Your deveritec-team
