The worst work experience I have ever had

First of all, it’s easy to notice that they mostly hire foreigners and that was the first red flag I’ve sadly ignored. There is an obvious reason for that- the newcomers barely know their rights and agree to work in terrible conditions and be treated poorly. Even a toilet break is a problem during the shift because you simply don’t have time for it.
Secondly, restaurant’s management does their best to avoid signing any contracts with new employees. I had all the documents with me, but no one ever asked for them.
Trinkgeld. Of course most of the guests give generous tips for staff. But also sadly the system of receiving tips isn’t transparent at all. As an example, after 4,5h shift at the bar I received only 8 (!) euro tip, the rest was taken by a manager because of the reason he never explained to me.
And a cherry on the top of the cake: of course they don’t pay even salary. I was working there some days and when it came to payments, they simply ignored me.
So I really hope the next visit of ordungsamt will bring them back to the reality where you have to pay to your employees and treat well people who do their best for your business.
