Überstunden, supporting functions werden leider nicht so gewertschätzt (HR, Customer Success, KYC) dafür werden R&D und Sales extrem gefördert.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Die Atmosphäre ist sehr gut, allerdings wird noch sehr viel top-down entschieden obwohl einer der Values Ownership ist

Work-Life-Balance

Tendenziell arbeiten 80% der Angestellten mehr als 40h die Woche. Leider wird dies vom Management nicht so wahrgenommen

Gleichberechtigung

White male privilege ist hier leider noch sehr viel vorhanden. Versuche für DEI Initiativen werden zwar vermeintlich angenommen, aber stehen auf der Prioliste ziemlich weit unten. Stattdessen wird Performance stark gefördert und belohnt. Überstunden werden erwartet.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

In general high-quality people, which makes it a fun place to work, at least for a while. No shouting. You can do nice things if you want. Kind of the minimum for a company that otherwise holds itself to high standards.

Probably standard. Externally image seems very polished. Internally much of the staff is dissatisfied and looking for other opportunities.

Leaders will call late at night;
Work load can easily mean weekends are needed to stay ahead; little to no quid pro quo; zero comp days, bonus scheme was laughable

Little to no career ladder for high performers. Good place to stop by and gather experience.

Gehalt/Benefits

Given that it’s a high growth company in the asset management industry, the pay and benefits are nowhere near what they could be. Beware the equity story they tell you when they negotiate comp.

Salary is paid on time and there is a modest growth budget.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Difficult to say. It’s a young company in many senses.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Very top heavy with chief executive + 4 mds when I worked there. You’d think it means better governance — and compared to a normal startup it probably does have a more mature culture. But the senior leaders all have their blind spots and feels like they are competing with each other instead of creating a spirit of collaboration. Didn’t see any of them as role models and had interactions with 3 that made me want to leave the company. Not a safe feedback culture. Zero space to talk openly about shortcomings without fear of reprisal.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Office was not up to par for a company of Moonfare’s caliber. Pretty relaxed about remote work. Not amazing, not terrible.

Kommunikation

Company is very transparent but communication also leaves a lot to be desired — very little follow up from leadership; never saw the chief executive in person. Inspiring speeches often left us laughing.

Gleichberechtigung

Can feel like half the company is from the same few neighborhoods in Hamburg and Munich :) Very few openly gay colleagues. Little to no senior colleagues of color. Leadership team is firmly white men. The diversity topic was never mentioned publicly by any one with power as far as I remember. Seems like the company is trying to do the bare minimum to seem hip/ not embarrass itself.

Interessante Aufgaben

Very fun to work with private equity industry, which is quite opaque in general. Workload and lack of priorities can at times kill the fun. Also rivalry between some teams is a downer.
