Good place to grow with some improvement opportunities
Arbeitsatmosphäre
It depends in which office you work: Wire has a reputation office in Berlin and it's a pretty unique and productive atmosphere with nice perks, e.g. free drinks all day and breakfast being made in the morning. Can't say much about the other locations but I guess the culture is more siloed there as the headquarter is in Germany and the majority of people are working there.
Kommunikation
Communication is the biggest improvement opportunity for Wire. Although they develop a collaboration platform inhouse, they still had challenges - like most of the companies - to transition to a remote working world when the pandemic hit. A few leadership changes happened in 2020 but I would definitely say that since then they aim to improve communication regarding the company status. Now, they have monthly team meetings again which is great.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
It's a pretty unique group of people working at Wire. They do a pretty good job in selecting new colleagues that are into the same standard about privacy and security as they want to develop their platform on. There are a lot of like-minded people of the open-source community as well.
Work-Life-Balance
Business priorities can shift and during running deployments, a customer can dictate your weekend plans. Wire takes care of granting you additional time off to compensate and the flexible work-from-anywhere and whenever you want is great but keep in mind that they're also servicing customers with time zone differences.
