User Enablement Engineer
As a User Enablement Engineer in the Accelerated Compute Engineering (ACE) team, you will manage the deployment, optimization, and operation of software and research environments for Roche's High-Performance Computing (HPC) and AI Factory platforms. Your role is to maximize scientific productivity by providing frictionless access to computational tools, including the NVIDIA AI Enterprise suite, and supporting researchers in executing large-scale AI and simulation workloads.
Responsibilities
- Manage user-facing platform environments, software stacks, and containerized applications.
- Architect and deploy NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, including NeMo and Omniverse, and optimize AI/ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow for GPU utilization.
- Act as a technical consultant for research teams, assisting with code porting, troubleshooting software bottlenecks, and creating self-service documentation.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation to replace manual configuration processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, or Computational Chemistry.
- 5+ years of experience in scientific software compilation, user enablement, or DevOps for research compute environments.
- Proficiency in Enterprise Linux, environment management tools (Lmod, Conda), and container technologies (Singularity, Docker).
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
- Deep understanding of AI/ML frameworks and performance tuning on GPU architectures.
- Experience with NVIDIA AI Enterprise tools and a strong customer-focused, agile mindset.
