Application Sales Engineer and Technical Trainer

We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer and Technical Trainer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the full insulation & components portfolio within Europe. This role will be based in our insulation factory in Roigheim - Germany with the possibility to work also partly on home-office.

Your responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing technical trainings to 3rd party customers on the full Insulation and Components portfolio: bushings, on-load tap changers, measuring and safety devices, digital and insulation.
• Support 3rd party transformer OEMs on reviewing end user specifications at the pre-tender stage as well as during project execution. Support also utilities in defining their specifications of public tenders.
• Liaise with supply side engineering teams on complex engineering projects, propose technically feasible solutions to the customers.
• Participate in exhibitions, conferences and other Marketing events in order to provide extended technical support and training on the product samples.
• Update training documentation, develop and standardize the training material and make it accessible to the customer and internally.
• Feeding of Market Intelligence to PGUs, GPG and GPMs. Support from a technical point of view on new leaflets and brochures.
• Collaborate with Hitachi Energy Sales channels and also 3rd parties on Service projects and prepare the project RFQs for supply side engineering teams.
• Support 3rd party customers on getting certiciation from our factories on Components after-sales service.
• Set up periodical trainings for HUB Europe TCS demand side team in order to elevate/maintain their product knowledge. Support also the technical training of Hitachi Energy transformer factories in Europe
• Create synergies between PGUs in order to increase share of wallet
• Willingness to travel within Europe (up to 50%)

Your background:

• Degree (Bachelor or Master) in a technical discipline, ideally Electrical or Mechanical engineering. Any other further qualification in business administration or economics will be considered an asset.
• More than 5 years of experience in a similar application engineering or technical training role. Experience in understanding and influencing utiltiies’ specifications is a must.
• Market as well as product knowledge in the field of power transformers or distribution transformers insulation and components is essential.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, customer-focused mindset. Ability to establish and manage long-term customer relationships. Excellent planning and organization skills
• Sound knowledge of MS Office and CRM, preferably Salesforce
• Business fluent in English, spoken and written, knoledge of German language will be considered an advantage
