The Position
As a Rust expert at Roche Diagnostics Solutions, you will lead the strategic migration of core execution engines and algorithms from C# to Rust. You will define the technical vision for the new stack, establish coding standards, and mentor the team to build internal Rust expertise while ensuring high-performance, secure, and scalable software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of legacy C# (.NET) codebases to optimized, concurrent Rust applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software components throughout the development lifecycle.
- Establish coding standards, workflows, and CI/CD environments for the new stack.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to upskill the team in Rust.
- Monitor progress to ensure consistency with architectural design and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with security, modifiability, and extensibility requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Extensive professional software engineering experience with production-grade Rust applications.
- Deep mastery of Rust memory safety, lifetimes, async runtimes, and standard tooling.
- Strong foundational knowledge of C# and .NET architectures.
- Proven architectural skills in designing complex, scalable systems.
- Exceptional talent for mentoring and providing technical guidance.
- Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
