Internship in protein chemistry: Novel antibody-based formats for in-vitro diagnostics (m/f/d)
Roche is seeking an intern to join the Protein Chemistry department within the Reagent Research and Design unit. This role focuses on developing protein-based reagents for immunological diagnostic assays, specifically for the Roche Cobas e-analyzer system.
Responsibilities
- Participate in research projects to optimize antibody-based reagents for current and future technologies.
- Perform antibody purification and conjugation using site-specific and nonspecific labeling strategies.
- Evaluate reagent performance on Cobas e-analyzers.
- Review and evaluate scientific literature and present findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including chemistry, protein chemistry, antibody development, and enzyme technology.
Requirements
- Enrolled student in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, or a related field, or in a gap year between bachelor's and master's studies.
- Knowledge of organic chemistry and protein biochemistry; experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency in instrumental analytics (e.g., UV-Vis, HPLC).
- Basic knowledge of immunology is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Good spoken and written English skills.
