Dear management, please work on your ability to receive criticism. Please understand that for the most part the employees who join your company are highly motivated and willing to do a lot for the company (even beyond what is in the scope of their position) but when there is no appreciation and no acceptance of employees telling where the line is, people get burnt out and leave the company. An ~80% employee turnover in 1 year is NOT normal.

The work atmosphere is good as long as management is not meddling unnecessarily. Unfortunately, in most cases they are. With extreme micromanaging attitudes and unrealistic expectations it is no wonder most do not survive in this company for longer than a few months.

Most of the employees are either overworked, feel threatened by management, burnt out, or all of the above.
Work-Life-Balance
We are offered 1 day a month as Zeitausgleich which is nice, but to use that you need to have at least 20 overtime hours. It is generally expected to work a lot more than the hours specified on your contract and except for the 1 day a month you do not get any compensation or even appreciation. A few months ago those who had over 20 overtime hours got all of their hours deducted from the HR system, as if we never did them from the first place. Some had over 60 hours just deleted.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
I did see employees getting promoted occasionally, however usually those who got promoted did not last for much longer, my guess is because they had to work directly with management which proved to be a challenge to say the least.
Gehalt/Benefits
I personally had a limit on how much I was allowed to make because of a scholarship I was getting so I did not ask for a salary even close to the typical in the job I did which was a win-win for both me and the company. However I did hear from many others who had no raise for a long time and had to basically threaten to quit to get the raise they deserved.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
The business model of the company is quite environmental friendly considering it has to do with renewable energy but there is no particular highlight on sustainability inside the offices themselves
Kollegenzusammenhalt
There is some sort of survival atmosphere in this firm where the employees and lower management try and stick together to make the work bearable while upper management is doing everything possible to make us miserable, sometimes seemingly for their own entertainment and to test boundaries.

Most recruits are in their 20s, not many older.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Upper management constantly has unrealistic expectations. It doesn't matter how much out-of-scope assignments you are already in charge of, they would always expect you to want to do more and take on more responsibility no matter how unrelated to your position it is.
If you dare disagreeing they would threaten your job and would lose all professional behavior and get personal with you.
Arbeitsbedingungen
The firm is made out of 2 offices in the same building. Both have a kitchen and the rooms are nice. Equipment is good as well.
Kommunikation
Internal communication is perhaps the worst aspect of this firm. False rumors get somehow spread and cause some damage before they get refuted. Deadlines get set without informing the necessary departments to meet those deadlines who sadly only find out about them too late. I personally was treated unfairly by management because they believed I have already posted a Kununu review, which until now I have not.

Women and men are treated equally, however that does not mean they are treated well.
Interessante Aufgaben
Every assignment I received outside of the scope of my work had to do with managing moving within the office, building furniture and doing other office management tasks. I did not mind doing those things although they were not interesting to me at all until I realized none of those extras are being appreciated and that management could never be fully satisfied.
