Personally I feel a high fairness and trust in both the company and the people. There are other departments where this might not always be the case.
While there can be times of stress and pushing deadlines, most of the time the workload is reasonable and allows for a life outside business
All that I am working with are friendly and nice to have as colleagues. Very international, very open minded, and interesting to talk to.
Always good and professional
Modern office, good equipment, excellent IT department
At times decisions are not properly communicated towards all employees and you learn about them indirectly.
We did AI already before the big hype, and now even more. Company heavily encourages usage of this technology, and you can feel that you are at the frontier of technology
I left Prewave some time ago and decided to finally write a review, mainly for people who are considering joining, rather than for the company itself.
Since leaving, I’ve spoken to a few former colleagues and none of them seem to regret having moved on.
From my personal experience, it was a very difficult workplace. I often experienced what felt like dismissive and discouraging communication from management, which I personally experienced as gaslighting. Overall, the organisation often felt unclear in its direction and priorities, and at times quite disorganised.
During my time there, there were also periods of restructuring and layoffs, which contributed to a lot of uncertainty.
I’m sharing this not to influence the company’s internal direction, but to give an honest perspective to anyone considering working there: my experience was negative, and I would advise people to carefully evaluate whether the environment fits them.
Prewave is a highly motivating environment where everyone is genuinely helpful & friendly and works toward a common goal. Regular team events and company activities create a great sense of community and fun outside of daily tasks.
The home office flexibility allows for a perfect work-life balance while staying highly productive.
Working conditions are modern and provide everything needed to work efficiently.
Communication is clear and transparent across all levels. Information is shared quickly, making it easy for everyone to stay aligned and informed.
I appreciate the friendly and supportive work environment, as well as the open communication and transparency within the company.
I really appreciate the friendly and supportive work environment and the team culture is welcoming, and colleagues treat each other with respect.
Overall, the company’s image is modern and forward-looking.
Working hours are flexible and allow a good balance between professional and personal life.
The company offers good opportunities for professional development.
Employees are rewarded fairly for their work and performance.
Team spirit is strong, and colleagues support each other.
Management is supportive, approachable, and respectful.
The working conditions are modern and well-organized.
Communication between teams works very well and is solution-oriented.
Overall, communication is professional, supportive, and well-structured.
The company is fun, the people are professional and approachable. The work is good. Yes, it's sometimes ambiguous and chaotic, and yes, there's times where you might go 'hmm..' when a decision is made, but that's in large part due to the ambiguity and fast paced nature of it all. Reviews with 1 to 2 stars painting this place as a third rate hellhole are honestly insane and beyond anything remotely reasonable.
Yes, Prewave is staffed by humans, yes, humans make mistakes, but the image some of the reviews are sketching are nuts, and not at all what this org is like (and is the reason I decided to even write this review, normally not a fan of this stuff)
A more fleshed out training platform or skill development platform would be awesome. My two cents: feel free to call out negativity more often.
People are honestly friendly, approachable and kind
Prewave's product is cool: explaining what it is Prewave does is usually met very positively
Want to work from home, remotely, while on a holiday? Prewave's extremely flexible. I prefer the office, though.
They will support you and think with you, and you'll find managers are very happy for you to want to develop yourself. There's also a training budget available. HOWEVER, it would be cool to have more accessible trainings across a wide array of skills.
No complaints
Prewave actively works to get green and sustainable legislature through in the EU - this is kind of our whole deal
I legitimately never met as many lovely people that are so willing to work with and think with you as here. People are very open to what you're saying, and tend to cooperate with a smile. Learned a ton while being here.
There's not that many (much) older colleagues - Prewave's a fairly young company, but the ones that are there are kind and approachable and not at all traditionally "stiff"
Yes, there's times where you might go 'hmm..' when a decision is made, but that's in large part due to the ambiguity and fast paced nature of it all. Reviews with 1 to 2 stars are honestly insane. I've met some of the most dedicated and competent people throughout my entire career here.
Great, but as it's a scale-up: speak up! Making your voice heard is the best way to get what you want :-)
As Prewave is a scale-up, this is difficult sometimes. A lot of moving parts, and a lot of processes are changing VERY quickly/are not fully fleshed out. It's getting better, but it can be chaotic at times :-) if you can't handle ambiguity to a certain extent Prewave might not be the ideal company for you.
If you can make a good case why you wanna work on X.. you can! There's a lot of room for both personal/professional development.
initial mission is cool. front desk ppl are nice and are caring and provide snacks. some colleagues are amazing
it was amazing now it is not. there was a wave where people were let go, and now it feels (only feels before you remove this comment because it is "untrue" hr) as if it is happening again. people see good performing people get fired and they are not sure.. why?? am i next?
please please PLEASE start being open and honest. if people are being let go take ownership. say why they are being let go. stop with the fake we are parting on mutual terms thing. recent firings in CS and marketing show that top leaders have no clue what is going on. if you want people to get a good feeling about this organisation before they join..? change your ways. dare to be criticised for taking decisions!!!
restructure marketing and customer success immediately as was done with hr, and please put a more suiable person at the top. until then the organisation will suffer.
one of the two founders is so so sooo busy with operational stuff that nothing is happening. no reply to messages nothing. it is insane. they micromanage and take part in decisions that should be 1000kms seperated from them. if you are the product founder reading this.. take a step back. you are helping nobody this way.
if you are the other founder: please follow a course on how to hire people that know what they are doing at their job.
as an example, there is one super toxic eomployee that is a developer. but the founder likes him so guess what he is going nowhere. ppl hate him but, colour me surprised, he is here to stay
doesn't matter because they might be gone one to the next day
the most incapable people are really at the top of the org tree. micromanagement, chaos and more.
there is no such thing as transparency. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Shiatsu 1 a week was nice, also they are very ok with home officing.
Go back to the roots, get rid of 90% of these VPs or get other ones that are not these corporate people that only care about themselves and their careers. Be grateful to your employees and stop lying to the clients. Hey, I get it.. now the investors are running the show and they will make you follow the corporate manual because they want to see the money back at least. Protect your profit!
Before the VPfication of the company, it was actually ok. Although the company will non stop talk about their mission, which is more like the title of this review than what they actually claim to be, and how cool and edgy they are, they got sucked into having the worst aspects of corporate culture, specially after getting I don't know how many millions from investors. Within a month that the VP in my department started, everything went bad VERY fast. Immediately there were unfair, unilateral bonus cuts and the general structure changed and all was communicated in a short, rude and condescending way. The only people that knew what they were doing were moved or let go. VP was/is completely clueless about the product, I mean, probably doesn't know how to log in level of cluelessness. The environment became super toxic in general, micro managing got to extreme levels and even sabotage from other colleagues became something normal while everyone was afraid for their job's safety constantly. Meanwhile, the product got worse and worse, bugs everywhere while Sales/BD promised things that don't even exist to the clients, basically creating a vicious cycle. Basically it's a sinking ship.
I liked Prewave when I joined, now I think it is the worse place I ever worked at.
This was ok, actually.. although much of your time off work will be spent on thinking if you are the next from the long list of ex-colleagues that will be fired and with what magical powers are you going to solve the issues you have to at work with absolutely no support from anyone, no knowledge base, no clear processes and all the pressure in the world.
What career? Further education, maybe if you want to become a clown as your next professional step.
Industry standard for some, way bellow industry standards for others while VPs make hundreds of thousands for destroying everything.
The company will pose like a champion of eco-awareness, but that is only a tale to fool clients and investors.
Social aWHATness? Their ''AI'' are third-world workers under constant pressure for results doing menial, repetitive jobs for maybe a third of the wage they'd get in Austria. All my solidarity to those people.
For the ''mere mortals'' it was fine, nice people in general with some exceptions of course but good for the most part, too much gossip for my taste but everyone is doing their best despite of the horrible conditions and absolute lack of support. Lately though, you'll get thrown under the bus and sacrificed if your colleagues feel that they job is at risk (which is all the time for the past 10 months now).
Once you start going up the ladder you mostly find condescending power trippers that will favor their friends/side kicks and demoralize and set everyone else for failure.
Already spoke about it, older or I would call them, more senior colleagues are for the most part know-it-alls and they don't have time or will for anyone bellow them. They will form little exclusive groups and some will not even ever say hi to you and ask things in a demanding, condescending way and as already mentioned they will sabotage you and undermine you so you look bad and they look good.
From the very top, delusion, they must live in and see a different reality.
From the VPs and Team Leads, no support, no honesty, condescension, all the pressure on the workers and no way to win. If you do well, you only did your job requirement, if you fail, you are shortlisted to be fired.
We were told to say hi and bye to people, imagine that, either we are all kindergarteners or there was something obviously wrong.
On the other hand, how they systematically let go of people without any reason as if it was like taking the trash out doesn't scream social awareness
I liked my desk and my chair, can't complain about it.. absolutely standard, though.
From the higher upper management all we got was delusion, everything was wonderful and the future was bright, meanwhile you looked around and though, ''what are they talking about?'' No career plans for anyone, no prospects of new clients and long established clients either constantly extremely unsatisfied or leaving left and right to go with the competitors.
From Team Leads and so on, micro management, deception, set up for failure and even sabotage. Survey results displaying disastrous ratings of morale and satisfaction with the workplace were completely ignored or turned around/cherry picked for months on end. None of the changes in the department made any sense and were not to be questioned or even asked about unless you really wanted to be put on the spotlight and get bad consequences. I've never been so lied to nor have I ever witnessed such double-faced and ungrateful behavior towards employees. Feedback is only a word and is used for nothing positive, only negative towards the employee.
If you are not Austrian or a German speaker your chances to go up the ladder will be slashed by a lot, while your chances of getting fired first will be increased by A LOT.
If you are someone's pet/side kick/ego massager then you'll have some even if you do absolutely nothing, otherwise you are nothing.
Zero, everything is TOP TOP TOP priority because the roof is on fire and the ship is sinking.
Colleagues hold strong together
Change HR & Growth Top Management.
Don’t be fooled by the CV coming from Google or Mc Kenzie they don’t know what they are doing.
From outside very good but inside nothing what the product stands for
Most of the colleagues started there for a mission and believed what the founders said but along the way the product performance as well customer satisfaction declined significantly.
Growth try’s to fix it by giving higher targets to Sales but has nothing to do with reality and employees leaving one by one.
Top Growth Management and HR are fooling the founders by giving them false informations or predictions to save themselves. Growth is very toxic.
You need to do a lot of politics to be good with them
You need to be good with the management performance doesn’t count unless you are in sales but Growth Management is always there not to appreciate your work to give you a higher target instead which leads to frustration and resigning.
Product has a lot of potential when used correctly
