As a visual type of person I miss the big "drawing board in office" to explain complex things that regularly occur in IT environment. A scheme picture tells more than 1000 words and every participant gets "on the same page".

We have regular Christmas parties, one in office, one out int resteraunt. We also have other companie events. Coworkers get on well with another.
Work-Life-Balance
With Corona came the HomeOffice option which is really great for comuters that come from long distances. Also the working hours are flexible.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
If you want to learn new stuff, you can get Udemy courses. Personally i switched from desktop development to web development and the company has enabled me the transition.

- perhaps we could use less the air conditioner in summer and heat less in winter time. => hard to please everyone in case of a big open office. Some like it hot, some ice cold. => Home office possibility comes very handy in that case.

Age doesn't play any role. Why should it? The older bring experiences, the younger fresh approach and new technologies.

I dont give 5 stars here, because I really dont like the idea of one big open office.

Gleichberechtigung
As a male I can not talk for females ( if I could, i would say that they are fairly treated), but as a one of the first foreigners I must say that it was easy to "integrate" and never had any negative experiences. If I could not found the proper words in german, I could always switch to english in conversation with the natives.
