Very fast and transparent recruiting process and super friendly and professional Interviewerin :)
I don’t have a suggestion for improvement as I had a great experience and felt very respected, everyone was really nice, and had great discussions.
My experience with the hiring process at Waterdrop was extremely disappointing. HR barely communicates — often not at all — and updates are almost non-existent. Interviews drag on far longer than necessary, without structure or real value.
I had a strong impression that the company was mainly interested in getting the case study completed for free rather than genuinely evaluating me as a candidate. I invested a significant amount of time, I was simply ghosted — no feedback, no update, nothing.
The entire process feels unprofessional and poorly organized. The questions asked during the interviews clearly came from a generic script, and the HR representative had little understanding of the role or its context. At the same time, the company tries to present itself as a top-tier organization, while in reality it operates like a chaotic startup.
Overall, the impression is extremely negative. Candidates invest time and effort — Waterdrop shows neither appreciation nor professionalism in return.
First and foremost, the company should start valuing the people who genuinely want to work there, by showing more transparent communication throughout the entire recruitment process - from the beginning to the very end.
The hiring process takes far too long, with too many people, almost two months, with four to five interview rounds, where candidate basically repeats all what was said before.
Candidates are given a case study that is extremely challenging and very time-consuming. Completing it properly takes at least two to three full working days. For someone who is currently employed, it’s almost impossible to finish it within the given (very short) deadline without sacrificing sleep hours.
Additionally, the case study is partly submitted in a PPT format, but a large portion must be written directly on the company’s website as text responses to predefined questions. This approach feels quite inadequate, as many of the questions require demonstrating analytical thinking, visual presentation skills, and data-driven insights - things that are much better shown through slides, charts, or visuals rather than plain text answers.
Overall, I understand and appreciate that the company wants to run a thorough selection process, and find the perfect candidates - this is completely reasonable to me. BUT, after asking a candidate to invest so much time, effort, and even to share a significant part of a personal know-how and expertise during the case study, which later could be used for the company’s own purposes, it feels very DISAPPOINTING to receive only a generic rejection email at the end, without any follow-up & feedback, or even a response to further communication attempts. COMPLETE SILENCE - no answers to any follow-up questions, no acknowledgment, and no reasons why, even after reaching out multiple times and addressing several people within the company.
Throughout the process, candidates receive very positive feedback from team members, sometimes even people from the top management, which makes them believe they have strong chances, and therefore they probably invest even more effort into the case study. That’s why it feels particularly unfair to be completely ghosted at the end, especially after such a demanding and lengthy process.
I believe this kind of experience reflects very poorly on the company’s employer brand. Ignoring candidates after such an intensive process shows a complete disregard for their time, effort, and professionalism. Respectful and transparent communication, even a short, personalized reply is necessary. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this company to other professionals, and I sincerely hope they reconsider how they treat candidates in the future.
So verdient kununu Geld.
