Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

office location, product potential, nice employees

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

No real leadership. Top management who doesn't understand themselves how the platform works from the operation point of view. Extremely high fluctuation, people being laid off without any warning and reason, including employees being with the company for years - my guess is that by now there isnt more than 10 people out of 100 who are at Coople longer than 3 years. Every end of the month felt like lottery - who is fired or decided to leave next. No career development plans, absolutely ZERO appreciation for the delivered work, including hard projects. Constructive feedback given to management was not bringing any change. And since people turnover is so high, the same ideas are coming and going as no one learns from previous mistakes. It is not a place for ambitious and talented people as it will go to waste.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

Stop being such a hypocrites. You say that you put people in the heart of Coople but in reality you have them in a very different part of the body...

Arbeitsatmosphäre

Employees are friendly, open and nice. The office is modern, though has no room for privacy. Every corner and every meeting room is visible from many angles and the meetings can be overheard easily. Looks cool but with time shows not to be so practical after all. Working within the team is great. What makes the atmosphere bad is lack of appreciation from the Management and firing people out of the blue.

Kommunikation

At Coople there is no such a thing as failure. Every action, event, decision is always presented as a success, no matter what happened. Management is never acknowledging their mistakes. People who dare to stand out and speak publicly about things that do not work are seen as problematic.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

People generally want to help each other.

Work-Life-Balance

home office is frown upon and allowed only to the certain employees and IT team.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

My Team Leader was amazing in almost every aspect. It is the incompetent C-Level Management who was the problem.

Interessante Aufgaben

Way too much manual work as for a company who calls itself an automated platform...

Gleichberechtigung

No women in the TOP Management. Women coming back from maternity leave loose their Team Leader positions. Salaries are not paid fairly across the company. Bonuses are given or not, without proper communication why.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Since the average age is about 28 there are only few employees who could be in the category "older". Too experienced people get too expensive and are fired.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Good equipment (laptops, screens, tablets etc.), nice office with good desks. Not existing common sales materials - proper company presentation, sales pitch. Each team does their own freestyle.

Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein

Topic rather does not exist in the company conversations

Gehalt/Sozialleistungen

Salaries below the market range, no 13th salary, bonus paid only to chosen people, although the agreements were the same and goals were met.

Image

Externally Coople shows itself like a super modern place of work but the truth is it far from it.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

The courses will be paid only to the chosen employees, even if they are relevant to the job. No clear rules of who is eligible to get the course paid and who doesnt. No one cares about your career development. Even if you care and do things proactively to develop, you may (and most probably will) face pointless discussions.

Dear ex-colleague,

Thank you for your extensive and detailed feedback! We’re very sorry to see that you have had a negative experience working with us. While we acknowledge some underlying reasons that have given rise to your criticism, it is fair to say that some of the points you’ve described don’t reflect the full picture.

You mention lay-offs a couple of times and it is true that, as in a lot of companies, covid-19 has had an impact on our business and unfortunately we were obliged to let go of some very qualified colleagues. However, the resulting lay-offs in Switzerland were modest and kept within very reasonable limits, we’ve already retrieved our growth trajectory again and a statement that people are being let go as if it were a lottery every month is very far from reality. You mentioned that home office is undesired, though we have a clear home office policy stating home office is possible on all levels and in all departments without specific time-bound limitations. Furthermore, asserting there is “absolutely ZERO appreciation for hard work” deviates from the fact that individual people from different departments are regularly being recognized and praised for their contribution in company-wide meetings and within their own team.

We don’t think this is the right place to elaborate on each and every point you’ve raised, but obviously we regret to see that you seem to have had a bad experience that extended into an overly negative all-round evaluation of our workplace. Nonetheless we respect your critique. Employee feedback and also the recently conducted workplace culture survey amongst all our employees will help us to continuously improve Coople’s workplace in the future.

Best regards,
Coople HR
