Head of Internal Communications

In short

The Head of Internal Communications leads, scales, and elevates global internal communications and storytelling across On. Reporting to the CHRO, this role serves as a strategic driver of connection and clarity, keeping global teams aligned with On’s mission, values, and business priorities. As a trusted advisor to the Leadership Team and founders, this position shapes executive voice, co-creates change management strategy, and guides major company moments across digital, written, and in-person channels.

Your mission

  • Define and evolve the internal channel ecosystem and tone of voice, guiding where communication happens and how it resonates across global teams.
  • Co-create and shape the global editorial strategy across live events, written moments, and creative mediums (video, audio) to bring clear, inspiring messages to life.
  • Partner with senior executives to author and codify core organizational frameworks, orienting global teams around key strategic and cultural tenets.
  • Direct and oversee content strategy for major internal events, including Global Town Halls, AMAs, and inspiration formats.
  • Lead speechwriting and cultural engagement for senior leaders, translating thought leadership into compelling narrative moments.
  • Guide communications through change and reactive scenarios, bringing clarity and calm when it is needed most.
  • Build collaborative, cross-functional partnerships with Human Resources, External Communications, Events, Investor Relations, and Marketing.
  • Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing, distributed internal communications team across global offices and time zones.

Your story

  • 15+ years of experience leading internal or corporate communications within a fast-growing, innovative global brand.
  • Demonstrated storytelling mastery, with a portfolio showcasing an ability to translate complex corporate strategies into clear, authentic internal narratives.
  • Strong cultural presence and natural curiosity, adept at building authentic cross-functional relationships and bringing bold ideas to life.
  • Executive presence with a track record of coaching, advising, and writing for C-suite leaders and founders through periods of hyper-growth and organizational change.
  • Proven leadership experience building, guiding, and developing distributed, high-performing communications teams.
  • Deep experience in event strategy and show production for large-scale employee gatherings, with a keen understanding of stage delivery and live show flow.
  • Comprehensive business acumen across corporate strategy, investor relations, operations, and organizational design.
  • Innovative mindset with a willingness to challenge traditional internal comms conventions, test new formats, and drive meaningful cultural engagement.
  • Active awareness of emerging media and cultural trends, applying fresh insights to connect with diverse global teams.
  • Professional fluency in English; additional language skills are an asset.

Your team

The Internal Communications team sits at the heartbeat of culture at On. We are big thinkers and change-makers, constantly finding new ways to inform, inspire, and unite our global team. Partnering across offices and time zones, we craft clear narratives, bring major company moments to life, and foster an environment where everyone stays connected to On's mission, strategy, and values.
