The opportunity

We are looking for a Project Engineer to strengthen our polymer machining and processing business in Klingnau. In this role, you will play a key part in driving manufacturing excellence through process optimization, quality assurance, and the successful execution of engineering projects. Working closely with customers and cross-functional teams, you will take ownership of technically challenging projects from concept through implementation, including the design and development of components, tooling, and technical solutions using CAD. If you bring experience in engineering project management, strong CAD capabilities, and a passion for turning technical concepts into practical manufacturing solutions, we look forward to hearing from you.

How you'll make an impact

  • Provide technical support for sales, procurement, and production, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and develop and validate tooling and work instructions to ensure stable, repeatable manufacturing processes
  • Manage internal and external customer development projects, define milestones and technical deliverables, and coordinate trials and implementation activities with production, quality, maintenance, sales, procurement, and AVOR
  • Introduce and continuously improve production processes, define and validate manufacturing parameters, identify production bottlenecks, and implement improvements to equipment, layouts, and workflows to reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and cycle times
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform mechanical, electrical, and thermal testing of materials and components for product development and quality assurance, including specimen preparation and test setup, in accordance with approved procedures and applicable requirements
  • Evaluate test results and prepare detailed technical reports and documentation to meet customer and internal requirements
  • Investigate product and process deviations using structured root-cause analysis, define corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness through testing and production data
  • Create and maintain CAD drawings and 3D models for components, assemblies, tooling, and test fixtures, including dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications, and updating documentation following design or process changes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, and environmental requirements in design, laboratory, and production activities, and support the review, documentation, and approval of technical changes before implementation
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of management systems in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001

Your background

  • Engineering qualification in mechanical, production, industrial engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Min 2 years of relevant professional experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Proficiency in CAD software and the creation and interpretation of technical drawings
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production equipment, tooling, and process validation
  • Strong expertise in plastics and composite materials is an advantage
  • Proven experience managing engineering projects and coordinating technical activities across cross-functional teams
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively with laboratory, production, and business stakeholders
  • Fluent German and English language skills are required
  • Practical experience in measurement technology and mechanical, electrical, and thermal laboratory testing, including data analysis, test documentation, and technical report writing
  • Structured problem-solving mindset and experience with continuous improvement methodologies; Lean or Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage
