Was die Firma über den Job sagt

Catastrophe Modelling Analyst

Do you work with catastrophe risk every day in your underwriting, and want to turn that expertise into insight that shapes portfolios? As our Catastrophe Modelling Analyst, you'll be the bridge between Zurich's Catastrophe Modelling team for Europe and Asia Pacific and our underwriting community. You'll turn model outputs, hazard information and engineering insights into clear, tailored guidance that helps underwriters and portfolio managers understand and steer their catastrophe exposure.

In this role you'll have a real impact. Your insights will drive smarter, data-based underwriting and help us stay ahead in the market. You'll be forward-thinking in how you work, using AI to build tools and reports that deliver insight quickly and at scale. Togetherness is at the heart of the role: you'll build a strong network across our underwriting community, so every solution starts with a clear picture of what colleagues need. Along the way, you'll deepen your hands-on catastrophe modelling skills and grow towards a more strategic exposure management role.

What you will do

  • As a member of the Catastrophe Modelling team you act as a key link to the underwriting community, turning complex technical content into clear, practical insight and actions for underwriters and portfolio managers.
  • Use catastrophe model outputs, hazard information and engineering insights every day to support catastrophe underwriting and portfolio management at country, and regional level.
  • Design and build tools, reports and AI-powered capabilities that bring catastrophe risk insights faster to underwriting.
  • Build and maintain a wide network across Zurich's underwriting community to understand what stakeholders need and expect in managing catastrophe exposure, and turn this into clear priorities for the modelling team.

What you bring

  • Proven expertise in catastrophe underwriting, using catastrophe data (model outputs, hazard information or engineering insights) in your daily work, either as an underwriter or in a role working closely with underwriting.
  • Hands-on experience of using AI successfully to support your catastrophe underwriting work, for example to automate analysis, build tools or speed up insights.
  • A solid understanding of how catastrophe model outputs, such as average annual loss and exceedance probability curves, feed into underwriting and portfolio decisions, particularly for natural catastrophes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical content clearly to non-specialist audiences.

You belong here.

Imagine working in one of the world’s most sustainable workplaces. At Quai Zurich Campus, you’ll enjoy an environment designed to help you thrive, with benefits that support your well-being and impact, and opportunities to perform at your best, surrounded by top talent and supportive colleagues.
