I never saw it as a conventional job , as it was a demanding, rare little world of real craft, sharp judgement, good people who truly knew the market. We went through thick and thin there and anyone who understands the industry will know just how much it matters to have had that kind of backing. I look back on it with real fondness.

Real artistry is not about the outfit, the freedom, or the carefully curated aura as we all know, it is instinct, discipline and actual substance. Some clock that straight away, others never quite do, and if those ones stay outside, the room will cope just fine

What I really valued as an artist was that we were never there just to nod along we were there to get it right. Experience mattered because it often spotted what others missed, and the best teams were always the ones with enough trust and confidence to challenge each other properly in pursuit of something better.
