Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Fresh fruit, free coffee/tea, soft drinks, oil/vinegar, and a kitchen to cook. Very flexible working hours and holiday planning. Option to use internet for private matters

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

lack of communication, no personal development, time management (projects), low payment

Verbesserungsvorschläge

I think the only rescue for this company would be, if a professional and modern thinking upper management would be established, who has strong people skills and has a realistic time and cost perspective.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

The company has a high staff turnover, brain drain and a high rate of sick leave! The project management and the galenical department has almost completely turned over within a few years. You can notice that on a two-year old telephone list almost 70% of the people don’t work there anymore. If you ask for those people you get the following reasons: Burnout, sick leave and never came back or found a different job. Staff, who works there for a longer time is quite keen on leaving, because they are not treated well (no appreciation of their work, no financial promotion, if you want to get any acknowledgement, you’ll have to work overhours and give up your private live).

Kommunikation

Unclear and inefficient on the fly. Information has quite a low half-time.
Communication from the upper management to the employees is almost not existent. If someone quit or something happens internally (new person, new equipment, other decisions), you must rely on office grapevine. Decisions are often made hasty and without consulting anyone, who is really into the details.
The company language and language of most of the quality documents is German. Nevertheless, they love to hire foreigners, which most likely are cheaper and willing to make more compromisses. Unfortunately, most of the quality documents and instructions are scans or hardcopies and you will have a hard time to translate and understand them. Some staff does not have a high command of English and the so called “Infoveranstaltung” is also performed in German… So, what is the point?

Kollegenzusammenhalt

I heard it was once significantly better and is also highly depending on the department.
Team spirit is broken and everyone is doing the bare minimum and waiting for closing time.

Work-Life-Balance

Depends on yourself. If you don’t care, it is fantastic, and no one of the rest of team will judge you. If you care about the company, you are screwed. Some people work more than 50 h per week. Employee protection is for these cases not part of their vocabulary.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Unclear and inefficient communication on the fly. But maybe also not their fault since information has a low half time and decisions are made by upper management in a rush without estimating the real time effort. Unfortunately, no focus on real staff development. It feels like a dead end.

Interessante Aufgaben

The projects and tasks could be highly interesting, if the time expectations would be significantly more realistic. Upper management seems to have no real experience in research and development and set an unrealistic time schedule. Furthermore, most of the projects are getting 2D/3D ones, which are meant for the customer DiHeSys, the other company of the same lead… Since there is no investment performed on the required extrusion technology, I think the whole system is doomed to implode anyway.

Older staff would be too expensive… So most of the colleagues are quite young and unexperienced.

Arbeitsbedingungen

Furthermore, IT systems are old and slow, and no investment is performed… It is funny if you think that the upper management claims to stand for digitalization in the health care system and innovative personalized medicine and then you see old and slow PCs, old software, which is not supported anymore or is only working with Windows XP, and you do not get any professional IT support intime. Lab equipment is still from Ratiopharm/Teva times and quite old.
In the galenical department equipment is distributed all over the lab and you’ll never know, if the part is really missing or only hidden somewhere in the company. Due to the high staff turnover in this department, there is no one left from the old Ratiopharm times, who could help with this special questions. The operational safety is really a weak spot for this company and I would be not surprised if there would be something on the news that someone got killed by a machine or got cancer from handling some drugs.

Karriere/Weiterbildung

No real initiatives on employee development. No financial promotion or support, no personal development, you must really beg for external training. There is no vision about how and where to develop the staff.
