The foundation is there. The client work is strong, the colleagues are talented, and there is genuine potential in what the company is building. With more transparency, better internal communication, and a greater focus on employee wellbeing and development, this could be a really rewarding place to work. I hope to see that progress happen.
The individual sections of this review speak for themselves.
Invest in clearer and more consistent internal communication — employees should not have to piece together what is happening at leadership level. Foster a culture where development and internal contribution are actively encouraged. Reconsider the approach to time tracking for internal work, as an overly rigid system can erode trust and morale without adding real value. Most importantly, ensure that the positive energy and talent that exists within the team is retained, not by pressure, but by creating an environment where people genuinely want to stay.
The company operates across three offices: Germany, India, and the UAE. I can only speak to the on-site experience in Germany. Up to seven people share one office room, which is manageable given the circumstances, though concentration can be difficult when colleagues are frequently on calls or in back-to-back meetings. The office itself is notably quiet; there is little spontaneous interaction between colleagues. Those who prefer to work independently will feel comfortable here, but personally I missed a stronger sense of team spirit.
Clients were genuinely enthusiastic about the company's work and regularly recommended them — and rightfully so. The external delivery was solid. The challenges, as this review reflects, were more of an internal nature.
Work-life balance was generally acceptable. Flexible start times meant there was no rigid requirement to be in the office at a fixed hour, though being available by around 10am was an unspoken expectation. During busy project phases, some evening or weekend availability was occasionally necessary — but this was the exception rather than the rule. Those working across time zones should be aware that meeting times could shift accordingly.
Training and development was available in principle, and there was a formal process in place for it. In practice however, it required some effort to navigate. Personally, I would have welcomed more opportunity to contribute to internal processes and organisational development, but found little room to do so. Those looking to grow quickly or take on broader responsibility may find this aspect limiting.
Salaries were below industry average for the sector, which was one deciding factor for me personally. Over two years, no salary increases were given across the team — though it is fair to note that leadership held themselves to the same standard.
Benefits were modest: free coffee and water in the shared office space, and a discounted gym membership — an appreciated perk.
The company had an initiative to donate a percentage of early-paid invoices to charitable organisations, which was a nice gesture. Beyond that, I did not have much visibility into broader environmental or social commitments.
The colleagues I worked with were genuinely talented and motivated people. We supported each other well, particularly when navigating the challenges that came with unclear communication and top-down pressure. I genuinely missed those who left before me.
My direct team lead was an outstanding manager — supportive, fair, and someone I learned a great deal from. (Stars 5/5).
At senior leadership level, the culture was more challenging. There was a tendency toward pressure-driven management, and navigating certain workplace situations required more personal effort than it should have.
Working conditions were largely reasonable. Equipment was good — a proper desk setup with dual monitors and a company laptop. The home office policy was officially 50/50, though in practice it leaned slightly more toward office presence. Working hours were flexible in principle, though availability was generally expected throughout the day.
The one aspect I found genuinely frustrating was the time tracking culture. Minute-by-minute logging was emphasized heavily, to the point where even informal coffee breaks with colleagues were discouraged as non-billable time. For client projects, accurate tracking is understandable (and important!) — but applied internally, it created an atmosphere that felt more controlling than productive.
Communication between leadership and employees leaves room for improvement. Decisions made at management level were not always relayed clearly or in a timely manner, leaving employees uncertain about ongoing developments. Greater transparency from the top down would have made a noticeable difference.
The role offered some interesting work, and my direct manager and I occasionally explored ideas beyond client projects. However, internal initiatives rarely gained momentum — anything outside of billable work tended to be deprioritized. Those who thrive on continuous learning and intellectual challenge may find this aspect limiting.
