Your tasks:

on the role of mononuclear phagocytes for the progression and therapy response in human rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis. Initially, the position is limited to 3 years due to the project with the possibility of extension. The PhD position is embedded in the graduate school of the Cluster of Excellence Immunsensation2.

The project is conducted in a translational setting between the Schlitzer and the Schäfer lab and will utilize state-of-the-art single-cell resolution technologies, such as spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, and spectral flow cytometry, to investigate human rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis specimens.

  • Conducting and analyzing experiments to investigate the role of mononuclear phagocytes in rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis.
  • Use of single cell resolution techniques such as spatial transcriptomics and proteomics.
  • Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of scientists from the Schlitzer and Schäfer laboratories.
  • Presentation of research results in scientific publications and at conferences.

Your profile:

We seek a passionate scientist who is highly motivated to answer scientific questions relevant to human disease using cutting-edge technology in a stimulating environment. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields with top scores. Candidates with experience in immunological research and knowledge of R and/or Phyton will be given priority. Excellent written and spoken English skills are mandatory.
