Great place to work for anyone driven, curious and resilient. Super interesting market (energy) and you get to work with big (energy) utilities worldwide. The impact on those companies (in terms of system integration) and market potential is huge. High level of ownership is appreciated (& expected) and rewarded with trust & a lot of flexibility.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Not "bad" but maybe challenging for some people: Kraken is growing a lot and just like in any scale up that usually means there is a lack of standardization, documentation, etc. Luckily various AI tools help with searching for information. The focus on async (global teams!) communication via Slack can lead to being quite overwhelmed by numerous slack channels.
Kommunikation
The culture motivates people to reduce meetings, there is a strong focus on async communication via Slack. Whilst definitely a good overall rule (don't sit in meeting you don't have anything to contribute to, avoid meetings that could have been a message) it can sometimes be quite challenging to get response/replys, find the right people, etc.
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
Kraken carries the mission to leave a "big green dent in the universe" which was backed up quite well when it was integral part of Octopus Energy, which is a 100% green energy provider (& generator). Fact is that Kraken - as a software company - is licensing to (energy) utilities worldwide independent of their energy sourcing. The Kraken portfolio does support them in becoming more flexibel/efficient and thus better equipped in participating in a more volatile (renewable) energy system, however that exact impact remains to be measured.
