Interview Process:
The Task: For an execution-focused Specialist role (€64k), the recruitment process required building a content marketing funnel and a post-event community framework. This is Director-level strategic work, not a reasonable case study.
The Flow: Following a screening interview and an interview with the hiring manager, they demanded multiple days of uncompensated consultancy labor followed by a one-hour presentation panel—all before a baseline "culture fit" check.
Conclusion: An incredibly asymmetric hiring funnel. If you value your time and professional experience, be cautious. The process completely lacks transparency; it feels like an attempt to extract free consulting work.
Suggestions for Improvement:
Align expectations with the advertised salary and role level. Take-home tasks should test skills relevant to the actual position, not exploit candidates for free Director-level strategy. A brief introductory call should always happen before asking candidates to invest days of work.
After successfully completing a 3 different interviews and being asked to prepare a technical task and presentation for the final stage, I found that the last interview was primarily focused (around 80%) on HR-related questions, with only a few technical questions. The final rejection was based on HR-related answers. This means that a candidate can go through multiple interview rounds, invest significant time in technical assessments, and still be rejected due to HR concerns raised at the very end of the process. This is not serious.
Suggestion:
To ensure a more respectful and efficient process for candidates, I recommend evaluating cultural and HR compliance earlier in the hiring process. This would help avoid situations where a candidate passes several technical stages and completes time-intensive tasks, only to be rejected based on non-technical criteria at the final stage.
Weiter so!
I recently went through the recruitment process with Maltego, and I must say it was one of the most professional and transparent experiences I've had. From the initial contact to the final interview, the entire process was well-organized, clear, and respectful of my time. I do ‘t think there is anything to improve.
