Develop a passion for what you do. Treat employees with respect. Keep your emotions under control. Managers are afraid of the owners.

Unfortunately, it has changed dramatically over the years.
Work-Life-Balance
Depending on their position, staff are seen as dead weight. You can't do without them, but you don't really like them. Staff are not treated with respect.
Gehalt/Benefits
I don't know what it's like in other departments, but I only received minimum wage and no benefits.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Until the German general manager left, the atmosphere was great and everyone worked well together. Then he quit because of problems with the owner family. His successor also lost interest after a short time. Unfortunately, the owner family does not treat staff very well and puts a lot of pressure on them.

As a supervisor, you are merely an extension of the owner family.

Very good at first. Extremely bad at the end. You feel like a serf. You'd rather go back to your country of origin.

Extremely poor communication from the owner family. Often incomprehensible.
Interessante Aufgaben
Regardless of whether you work in a student residence or the hostel, the tasks themselves are interesting. I also believe that there is a lot of potential there, but unfortunately the owners lack passion. Guests and tenants are not well regarded by them.
