The interview process was organized quickly, and communication was fast and efficient.
However, I left the process with the impression that the expectations for the role were not fully aligned with the title of the position. The role was presented as a Product Designer position, but the expectations discussed during the interview felt closer to a highly strategic or Founding Designer role with broad ownership over discovery, product direction, and business impact.
I also didn’t leave with a clear understanding of how responsibilities are divided between Product, Design, and Engineering, which made it difficult to understand the specific expectations for the role.
Suggestions for improvement:
• Define responsibilities and expectations between Product, Design, and Engineering more clearly, especially in a growing team.
• Ensure that the job title, responsibilities, and expected level of ownership are aligned and communicated transparently during the hiring process.
• Put more emphasis on two-way communication during interviews by discussing not only expectations from candidates but also company culture, ways of working, and what support candidates can expect from the organization.
