Fast recruitment process, driven and motivated colleagues, fast execution of projects, good working atmosphere.
Great (product) team: Young, hungry, and smart product team, in general, the coolest team I have ever worked with
Good managers: My managers always tried to provide the best learning experience possible for me
Flat hierarchies: As an intern, I had a lot of responsibility and my opinion was valued
So if you are looking for insights into product I can only recommend the product management internship at getquin!!
Very nice atmosphere, definitely the coolest team I have ever worked with
I had no problem working from home or taking vacation. Working hours were also completely fine!
As in most of early-stage start-ups, there are a lot of opportunities to get promoted and develop yourself.
The salary was ok for an internship. I was very happy with the other benefits as I got an Urban Sports Club membership.
I just loved the hard-working but also the very humorous company culture
Shortly before I left a lot of senior hires were made. Also, loyal employees are valued.
My managers always tried to make the internship experience as good as possible. My opinions were valued!
Cannot complain about my MacBook ;)
Always very direct and constructive feedback.
From day one my managers asked me what I was interested in and wanted to learn
1) My amazing colleagues, who I was so lucky to meet through this job.
2) The opportunity to work in fintech and learn more about the industry.
Everything else.
As Britney Spears would say: TOXIC...
I'll preface this by saying that when I started, everything was great!
We had a fantastic team and a Lead who took great care of us. So thank you to my wonderful colleagues.
However, at some point, everything changed and upper management took over. From the on, it was all downhill.
I felt disrespected.
I felt constantly stressed.
I was micro-managed.
My skills and experience were called into question DAILY.
And this list could go on forever.
At some point, I started to question my own sanity.
My "Hot Take": If you only care about being right and pushing your opinion through, and not about employees or their work atmosphere, eventually you're going to end up with an empty office.
For me personally, the gap between what I perceived as reality and what upper management thought was reality just became a chasm to Mordor at some point.
To be fair, I'm just a very stubborn person who refuses to do overtime because of someone else's bad time-management skills. So I always had a cut-off point where I said "good bye" and went home.
But, from what I observed, other employees and/or departments weren't so lucky.
It always felt like overtime was expected and a 100% commitment to the company above all else was encouraged.
We were also expected to come to the office. And if you did home office, that was very badly looked upon.
I just cannot comprehend how this mindset is still so prevalent in a world where other companies are going 100% remote, switching to a 4 day work week and then still beating all productivity records. If you don't trust us this much, why even hire us in the first place?
It's hard to build a career in a company that doesn't seem to appreciate seniority or opinions contrary to that of management.
Just knowing how much other companies pay, I'm inclined to say: "Nope".
I personally didn't see us doing anything for sustainability.
"Nothing brings people closer together than shared suffering".
We didn't really have any. Everyone was super young.
Abominable.
If a workplace is toxic through and through, no amount of fancy MacBooks or potted plants with cute name tags is going to fix that.
When company strategy is either non-existent or changing every day, it's very hard to do "the right thing".
Communication between upper management and employees was intransparent and often conflicting.
Employees were expected to just know what to do, without any sort of company direction or clear focus. Feedback could change daily. One moment something was red, the next it was green. The day after that, we were back to red. Then everyone wondered why projects were moving so slowly and inefficiently.
Departments often didn't communicate with each other.
Crucial information slipped through the cracks.
Momentum was lost to miscommunication.
Lots of things had to be done last-minute because projects were not coordinated well across departments. This meant the quality of people's work suffered.
I didn't feel respected at all.
In the beginning, there were always cool campaigns to do and exciting tasks to explore. We had a lot of creative freedom up until the moment management changed.
Once that happened, creative freedom was quickly abolished and a new rule of terror began.
It's not a nice atmosphere as everyone knows there are huge problems and that there are rumors about a lot of people. But at least you get Macbooks
A lot of people complain about the work/the company/the founders to the other employees.
You are expected to work overtime all the time. If you leave on time you will be looked at weirdly and it will be talked about you behind your back. Home office is not very accepted either.
They don't offer any type of development when I was working there.
They have a few benefits and the salary could be better.
No one cares about sustainability.
Most of the employees are nice, but one of the founders spreads rumors about his employees between them, which makes you feel like you are in high school.
older colleagues do not exist
One of the founders spreads rumors, the other one has a huge anger management problem and yells at his team where everyone can hear it.
Home office is tolerated only sometime.
Communication is basically non-existent. The two founders contradict themselves all the time and are not able to solve their internal problems by themselves. You just have to decide which one you want to follow and tolerate that the other one will be annoyed for not following his rules.
Whoever is friends with the founders will be treated way better. But I guess that goes for most of companies.
Depens on what you work as and what you like I guess. They don't want you to work on your own but to do exactly what they tell you to. No freedom in your actions at all.
So verdient kununu Geld.
