This company has SO much potential, a good product and STILL manages to fail. simpleshow is simply in it's own way.

Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich

Individual employees.

Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich

simpleshow brought the saying "get it in writing" to a whole new level for me. The company has an unhealthy culture - I'd call it vitamin b poisoning. They simply protect the wrong employees. simpleshow sits on so much potential, it will be interesting to see if they will be able to fully unlock it, or keep standing in their own way.

Verbesserungsvorschläge

The product they have is good and (most) employees are working hard on keeping it that way! There is a discrepancy however between what C-Level and Investors THINK the product is and what actually IS. It seems almost like simpleshow has a strong vision of what and who they want to be, whilst missing to see who they actually are and what they bring to the table. In my opinion, strategies are rather build on the delusions they have, than what the market actually requires and offers.

Arbeitsatmosphäre

I have never seen so much unprofessional behavior in a company. I got placed in a Team full of employees who have been with the company a long time. Badmouthing new hires is normal in this team. Set colleagues are protected by the C-Level and you are expected to cater to their ridiculous needs. Senior Key Account Managers can't set up opportunities by themselves and/ or pretend not to be able to, so you have to do it (along other meaningless tasks) for them. There is a lot of pressure to perform, everyone does their own thing, there is no unity within the company, chaos is the norm.

Kommunikation

They try. You have some people who really try and give it their best despite the conditions. It made the impression to me, as if the upper management is constantly working on minimizing the impact of decisions made by C-Level and Investors. This shapes the way news are spread within the company. Since strategies can seemingly change weekly at simpleshow, confusion is the norm.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

In some teams and with some people it's a really good atmosphere. People support each other. It really all depends on where you are being placed. I was not so lucky. The sales team as a whole suffers from set colleagues, who have been with the company a long time. Two opposing sides have developed. Or better said: one part of the company is working against the other, badmouthing colleagues and spreading discomfort in general. It felt emotionally draining working with people who openly dislike their job this much. Why and how can they stay? Because they are protected by C-Level and the Investors (Vitamin B overload). Good and hard working employees are being thrown under the bus to cater to the needs of those protected key account managers. Apart from set KAM group, the company could be so lovely! But that's just another example of questionable decisions made by C-Level and Investors.

Work-Life-Balance

Overall good. It's very family friendly there. Again, depending which team you end up in, you do however hear people badmouthing colleagues for having a sick child. One of many examples of display of unprofessional behavior from some colleagues.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

There are team leads that really try and give it their best! They made my experience with the company more bearable. However, no matter how well thought through or how well intended, in the end their hands are bound by the decisions made by C-Level and Investors.

Interessante Aufgaben

Again, very much depending what team and what position you get in the company. I was not lucky. A lot of lead generation, mass mailings and administrative tasks that should be done by the key account manager themself. The product in itself is nice and should be fairly easy to sell. The way they do it however is unimaginative and boring. That was a bit disheartening for me. Other teams had more creative approaches though and people in general are given the freedom to test out strategies, draw up their own campaigns, etc.

Gleichberechtigung

A lot of women power!

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Funny enough, it felt very much like an american work/ sales culture around the 2010er years. Once successful key account managers are to be worshipped without question. Anybody who has success apart from them is being badmouthed and talked down. It literally felt like I was 'stuck in the wrong movie'.

Image

C-Level and Investors believe they are the greatest. In reality the image is fading. It's also a very expensive product and therefor only big companies can afford it. This is intentional. Since they have worked together with most of the big companies, they are known in them, but people are not as excited anymore. Cold calling in those companies was not fun at all.
