The "new management" is the problem

Arbeitsatmosphäre

In my experience, SPO is an oppressive atmosphere. Regardless of the department, everybody is micromanaged, even when the micromanager has no experience in the field. Strategic decisions are made and changed day to day, often with neither logic nor justification, this can make your work feel meaningless-- all the while, requiring long hours to correct poor decisions. Nearly everybody working at the company is young and inexperienced, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it means it will be impossible to find experienced mentors in your field. On the bright side, you will be given alot of responsiblity, which you can use to gain skills and knowledge which can be added to your resume so that you can find a new job.

Kommunikation

Management talks negatively to their employees about previous company leadership (you might see the previous leadership mentioned in many of the positive reviews....), even though many never even worked for the previous managers. In fact, management will even talk badly and unprofessionally about employees to the employee's coworkers (behind their backs). If you see a positive review here referencing the past management or other employees, I wouldn't trust it, as it is part of the same pattern.

Furthermore, meetings are late to the point of comedy.

Work-Life-Balance

Managment can complain when employees try to take vacations longer than 2 weeks, even if there are no deadlines and coworkers can cover for you.

On a personal note, I have had nightmares about management, which is to say that the negative aspects of the job can seep into your personal life and free time.

Vorgesetztenverhalten

In my experience, as well as the experiences of others, bonuses that were verbally promised were written in the contract to be achievable when "the worker reaches their goals". They were also justified as a way to give a lower salary in the eyes of "the investors", but still pay employees a fair wage. In order to achieve this, KPIs were supposed to be established by management to measure performance. However, to save money, KPIs were not established for several workers, then the bonuses not given because "we can't give bonuses when no KPIs are established". I felt that this was dishonest, especially because it was the job of the managers to set the KPIs.

Interessante Aufgaben

I really did learn so much at SPO and I'm grateful for that, but you need tough skin and a really high BS-tolerance to make it past a few months. If you succeed and you can teach yourself work-related skills, you will have completed a crash course to your field, which can really sky-rocket your career opportunities.
