Start-Up bedingt wenig wirklich ältere Kollegen und tendenziell eher junge Teams. Dennoch werden Erfahrungen geschätzt und gerne angenommen.

Allgemein positives Verhalten. Vorgesetzte sind erreichbar und hören zu und geben Feedback. Teilweise jedoch auch sehr eingespannt und gestresst bis überfordert, was wenig Freiräume für Mitarbeiterentwicklung bietet.

Alles am Arbeitsplatz vorhanden was man braucht. Mitarbeiterwohlergehen ist wichtig und wird betrachtet. Dennoch Hands-On Mentalität und keine perfekt geölten Prozesse.

Intern fließen Informationen zwischen Abteilungen noch zäh.

STABL is deeply anchored in the personal values of the founders - I loved the philosophical conversations with so many thoughtful colleagues.

Taking all the very positive feedback from outside into the account, the image of STABL is really good.
Now looking at STABL from the outside this impression got even more strong.

Overall very good, with understandable exceptions if fixed end dates approach. I did not separate too much between work and life - working at STABL counts very well as living time ;-)

Career/Professional development

Don't expect super structured career paths, it's still a startup.
But if you keep your eyes open and think beyond the box, you'll encounter very unexpected opportunities that you'll rarely get in larger corporates.

Don't expect a fluffy carpets and glass walls, but if you do so, you probably shouldn't work in a startup ;-)
I enjoyed the hands-on mentality and the creative vibes of the (very industrial...) location so much!

Communication

There's always room for improvement. But compared to the other places I've seen it's outstanding. No long boring meetings, always to the point, no extensive blabla.

Equality

As a male I'm not the one to judge, but diversity, equality and inclusion are not just words for STABL.
I especially enjoyed the international, multi-cultural vibes at STABL and English as office language.

Interesting tasks

Of course there's always some boring stuff to get done, but the general vision of STABL is super exciting, the technical bandwith to be covered provides for tons of fun. Add all the never ending challenges in non-technical areas, and you encounter an exceptional environment to never stop learning.

Everything, the cozy office, the great, friendly and welcoming colleagues, the trust and appreciation and the significant impact that I can make to the success of the company - keep up the great work!

Suggestions for improvement

I would only suggest upgrading the onboarding package to include wireless keyboards and mice, other than that I don't have any!

What I like about the employer

Den sehr nahbaren CEO, super aufgeschlossenes und kompetentes Team, wichtige und interessante Arbeit, super Verkehrsanbindung. Weeklies, in denen man alles wichtige erfahren kann sowie Input vom "Fußvolk" zur Quartalsplanung wird eingefordert.

What I dislike about the employer

Mein Vorgesetzter war nicht der, der mir im Bewerbungsprozess "versprochen" wurde. Der tatsächliche C-Level-Vorgesetzte (der kurz vor mir eingestellt wurde) und ich kamen dann nicht gut miteinander zurecht und ich sollte (nach großen Investitionen seitens der Firma) lieber gehen als zum ursprünglichen Vorgesetzten zu wechseln. Er hat schon in der Probezeit sehr hohe Ergebnisse erwartet, was bei einem relativ komplizierten Produkt schwierig ist, vor allem, wenn - wie bei neuen Produkten üblich - dauernd Veränderungen am Produkt vorgenommen werden. Meiner Meinung nach hat er ein Problem damit, selbstbewusste Personen zu führen.
Für mich erschwerend kam dazu, dass die Einarbeitung damals schlecht geplant war - durch einen Kollegen, der eigentlich andere Aufgaben hat und sich aber so gut gekümmert hat wie er konnte und ein anderer in Elternzeit war. Ich habe vielleicht nicht ganz so performt wie von mir erwartet, aber dass das ausreichend ist, um die Probezeit nicht zu bestehen, hat die allermeisten (inkl. mir selbst) doch sehr überrascht.

Zwei Monate nach meiner Entlassung sehe ich auf LinkedIn einen Post, der darauf schließen lässt, dass mein Vorgesetzter einen Freund aus einer vorherigen Firma auf mehr oder weniger meine Stelle gesetzt hat.

Suggestions for improvement

Führungskräfteseminare (falls das noch nicht gemacht wird) und Seminare zum Thema Gewaltfreie Kommunikation.

Working atmosphere

die Atmosphäre ist (wie eigentlich überall in den Erneuerbaren üblich) von starker Wir-reißen-das-Mentalität geprägt, alle wollen etwas bewegen. Einen Stern habe ich abgezogen, da die Stimmung sich wandelt. Sonst top!

Bisher waren alle Mitarbeitenden zufrieden, bei STABL zu arbeiten und es gab so gut wie keine Kündigungen. Für viele der Mitarbeitenden ist dies außerdem die erste Anstellung.

Ein Mitarbeiter kam sogar zurück, weil er nach einem Umzug in eine andere Stadt mit seinem neuen Vorgesetzten unzufrieden war.

Work-Life Balance

Es ist nicht unanstrengend aber im üblichen Rahmen für ein Startup. Häufige gemeinsame Aktivitäten außerhalb der Arbeitszeit.

Hier bin ich mir unsicher, dazu war ich nicht lang genug im Unternehmen. Ich weiß aber von mindestens einer Kollegin und einem Kollegen, die zu ihrer Zufriedenheit einmal quer durch die Firma tingeln konnten bis sie ihren Platz gefunden hatten.
Ich gehe davon aus, dass Weiterbildung kein Problem ist.

Gehalt kam immer pünktlich. Gehalt passt.

ist allein schon durch die Anwendung gegeben: Recycling von alten Elektroautobatterien.

Collegiality

Wie eigentlich überall in den Erneuerbaren ein famoses Team, in dem alle an einem Strang ziehen. Ändert sich aber seitdem die beiden neuen C-Level dabei sind.

Interaction with older colleagues

Es gibt kaum Ältere; die, die es gibt, habe ich so gut wie nicht gesehen, da sie viel im Außendienst tätig sind. Aber auch das ist für die Erneuerbaren bzw. für ein Startup nicht ungewöhnlich.

Leadership behavior

Hier muss je nach Abteilung stark differenziert werden. Es wurden auf Drängen der Investoren zwei neue C-Levels von außen dazugeholt. Einen kann ich bewerten - er leistet inhaltlich gute Arbeit; aber die Art, seine Ziele zu kommunizieren und durchzusetzen, finde ich unmöglich.

Ich persönlich fand die Kommunikation in Ordnung, es gibt jedoch Stimmen, die nicht so sehr zufrieden waren. Es gibt firmenübergreifende Weeklies, zu denen jede:r etwas beitragen darf und soll. Gute Transparenz aus meiner Sicht.

Equality

Das C-Level und alle Führungskräfte sind (bis auf den CEO, immerhin..) männlich und weiß.
Aber das Team insgesamt ist sehr divers, es werden Ausländer:innen eingestellt, nicht trotz sondern wegen ihres Nicht-Deutschseins, so kommt es mir vor, man sieht die Vorteile, die eine solche Biographie mit sich bringt.
Der Anteil weiblicher Mitarbeiterinnen stieg, sinkt in letzter Zeit aber wieder.
Auch queere Personen sind dabei.
Sehr hohe Anzahl Studierender, die sehr viel Verantwortung tragen dürfen, wenn sie über lange Zeit dabei sind (teilweise von Anfang an). Viele wurden übernommen.

Interesting tasks

Das Themengebiet und die Technologie ist megainteressant und fortschrittlich, man ist am Zahn der Zeit und leistet einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Energiewende.

What I like about the employer

I definitely want to emphasize that the company leaders are as imperfect as all the other leaders. STABLs leaders however know that and show continuous effort to make a mistake only once. They pass this attitude to us (their employees) by example as well as coaching.

What I dislike about the employer

Sometimes quite rapid focus shifts.

please get the organization right :) you know that and we keep bugging you.

just great. Tasks and priority shifts are most of the times clearly communicated and made sure we're on the same page.

The company offers coaching for everyone who's interested. They specifically claim to provide a upward career path of expertise alongside leadership.

as a rather small company they don't pay as much as BMW or AWS. However they way more than usual start-ups.

Environmental and social responsibility

One of the company's founders wrote the book "Meine kleine Energiewende". The general spirit of the company is what you would call green. They spend more money on paper-based packaging material so they don't waste so much plastic.
The idea behind the system is to help the energy transition and preserve resources from old car-batteries. So the core is indeed one of responsibility.

Collegiality

Colleagues are always helpful. Seriously, I never had a situation where a colleague refused to help someone. We (currently still) have a bandroom, where some colleagues meet after lunch for a jam session.
Every applicant has to go to a so called "experience day" which is essentially a working day at STABL so they can meet people and we can get an impression on whether the person fits the team. Hiring or not is a team decision, everyone has a veto-right.

Didn't notice any kind of discrimination.

Working conditions

The company usually doesn't shoo away from spending money on equipment that makes us more effective. However sometimes saving money is important so things get postponed.
They offer high-end laptops, ergonomic HID devices, ridiculously good headphones, standing-desks and so to everyone.

Communication

Cross department a very open culture. As of now, if we find discrepancies, someone has concerns or an idea regarding something, everyone to my knowledge is open to hear them. We value feedback.
We moreover have regular events where the leaders update everyone on the status and the upcoming plans. A small one each week, a big one every quarter.

Equality

To my knowledge we have people from over 20 different countries. I didn't notice any sign of racism or sexism.

Interesting tasks

Mostly yes. We're working on a kind of inverter that no one has built before, therefore it's research heavy. That's interesting. However sometimes some boring things just have do be done.

What I like about the employer

The founding team listens to employee's concerns. Appreciate that.

What I dislike about the employer

Changes can sometimes take time. Considering that it is a startup, maybe things could be a bit more agile.

State of the art infrastructure, best laptops and accessories. New office is crazy big and the labs are super nice.

I have been contacted by the competitors several times in LinkedIn. This has been annoying at times, but again also shows that competitors are aware/maybe even afraid of what Stabl offers.

Super chill work. No stress and enough time to continue my hobbies and spent time with family.

Salary/Social benefits

TVöD Salaries are not the best in the industry because it gives undue advantage to degree over skills. In the tech industry, skills win over degree any day. I hope this improves soon. However the salaries are indeed way above other similar startups.

Environmental and social responsibility

The team promotes biking and even promotes participation in Climate rallies.

Collegiality

Co-workers are super nice. They usually hire from TUM or Ex-Employees of top companies like BMW, Tesla, Magna etc

Leadership behavior

Stabl avoid's leaders instead; it has a very democratic setup where everyone/anyone can own or drive the tech stack. However this does not mean that there are no responsibilities.

Working conditions

Lots of care put into making the workplace safe since we deal with batteries.

English and German. All official communications is in English which really helps expats like myself.

Employees are given great working conditions, equipment and trainings. However, I give only 4 stars because we need a bigger office, as we keep growing. But that will be solved soon as well :)

Everyone is very open to hear new opinions and ideas. You can reach the person you want to talk to very easily (sometimes even just accross your desk!) As there are many tasks to do, sometimes we might not have time to communicate every little thing, but that will be improved :)

Taking time off or temporarily part-time, e.g. for parental leave is not a problem. The working hours in the contract are realistic.

Everyone is motivated to improve and encouraged to take responsibility; Attending a workshop at University was seen very positively.
