Verbesserungsvorschläge

- Do not use WhatsApp as a means of communication
- No emails and messages at the weekend
- Stop passing on sensitive information to other colleagues at all times
- Keep track of time: turn up to meetings on time and try to finish them on time
- Behave professionally in meetings (don't vape etc.
- Get the HR department back on track (e.g. personal development process)
- Create trust for employees
- be fair
- give your employees a proper goodbye and be grateful that they were working for that company

Arbeitsatmosphäre

I would Iike to stress that this review is based on the beginning of 2023 (change in management took place)

Fairness and trust: completely absent.
In general, it should be the case that you can trust your managing director. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
Sensitive informations are forwarded to other colleagues, who are in the “inner circle” (e.g. who is getting fired; what was said in one-on-one conversations; people get told by the managing director on the Christmas party that they are going to be fired).
Colleagues got played and turned their back against each other sometimes. Very very uneasy atmosphere.
It's not for nothing that most of the "core people" (who have been at urbanara for YEARS) were let go or terminated their contracts themselves.

Complete micro managing of the managing director as well as unprofessional behavior during meetings with external clients (e.g. vaping during meeting).

On top of it there was no helpful HR department to complain to nor are there any personal development processes.

Kommunikation

Many meetings are held and processes are discussed. Unfortunately, there is often a lack of structure and it is not always clear what the meeting is explicitly about (agendas are missing). In addition, the meetings are usually always overrun, which is very time-consuming at the end.
Informations is not always passed on from the top row to the heads. A lot of information was given by hearing other colleagues talking about it.

Kollegenzusammenhalt

The colleagues were the best about urbanara.

Work-Life-Balance

There is already a lot of work in all departments, as the departments are stretched very thin.
There is a flexible working time structure, which makes it much easier to organise tasks.
However, it is also possible that you get called on weekends or texted on WhatsApp by the managing director during the weekend. I really really disliked that!

Vorgesetztenverhalten

Department heads: they try everything to keep everything smooth.
The managing director: not suitable. See all my arguments through this review.

Umgang mit älteren Kollegen

Long-term employees are not appreciated. There were also cases in which these employees were accused of lying about a certain topic and were also treated very poorly in general.

I cannot say anything negative about older employees.

- nice office
- good technical gear

I hear a looooot of good things about the products, which is amazing. BUT consumers don’t see inside of the company - unfortunately.

Isn’t really there as there never were personal development talks or anything else.
