I highly NOT recommend Webconia as an employer because of the toxic behavior of the leadership (owner).
Gut am Arbeitgeber finde ich
Most of the colleagues are nice people and the COO is really nice, friendly and competent. Without her the whole company would't exist anymore. At least not with people working there.
Schlecht am Arbeitgeber finde ich
There are a lot of things but the main thing is the attitude of the owner. He is controlling everything and don't want to change anything or spend one Cent to change things to the better.
He is not able to communicate or be a real leader. He is not answering questions and instead responds to technical questions with why this is taking so long.
Also it seems that he takes all the projects that he gets. Even those who could realistically not successful. Then you are assigned to them just to work and bill the customer as long as possible and Webconia gets fired from the project.
Verbesserungsvorschläge
There is nothing specific to change because the owner is the owner and omnipresent. But he is the main/only problem. As long as he is in charge there will be no change.
Arbeitsatmosphäre
As long as you are working fast and efficient it's good. But when there are technical or skill issues you get questioned and pressured a lot.
Kommunikation
Just rating the communication skills of the owner not the colleagues or the personal management. But you have to deal with him and when you do you know what NO communication skills at all feels like.
Kollegenzusammenhalt
Almost all colleagues are nice to work with and friendly. There are some who share the lack of communication with the owner which is hard to deal with.
Work-Life-Balance
Nothing to complain about. But nothing that stands out either.
Vorgesetztenverhalten
Again just rating the technical manager. There is almost no communication or personal touch and it feels like that your purpose as an employee is only to make as much money as fast as possible for the owner.
Interessante Aufgaben
The projects are really bad. Most of the time the projects are legacy stuff which other companies declined to work with and your job is to try to get something done without an onboarding or a person in charge to help with complex structures.
Gleichberechtigung
Employees are treated equally but trainees almost have no rights and are treated in a not at all acceptable way.
Arbeitsbedingungen
This is where it gets ugly. The desks and chairs are old and cheap. The office is one room with way too many desks and no sound absorption. So it gets really loud. Also there are no ceiling lights. Only some cheap LED standing lights with a motion sensor. So when it gets dark you have to move to reenable them. You have two screens on your desk which are not matched and from around 2008 (some of them not even 1080p).
Umwelt-/Sozialbewusstsein
The only thing that counts is money money money.
Gehalt/Benefits
The salaries are way ... and I mean way below the average. At least there are some little benefits as the train ticket gets paid.
Image
This is actually the worst. Almost everybody talks about quitting all the time and how annoyed they are of the behavior of the owner.
On the other hand the leadership always talks about the good spirit in the company and that we are all a family. But this can't hide the fact that almost everybody is frustrated. You can see this in the fluctuation rate. In my time almost everybody left in the first year.
Karriere/Weiterbildung
There is no career. There are some specifications on paper like (Junior, Intermediate, Senior and so on) But it's not related to the salary and the owner decides without any basis which title you get. Sometimes after 6 month somebody is "Head of.." or others stays for years junior. Also the project based work doesn't let you grow your skills in one area. The owner decides which project gets assigned to you no matter what technology is involved. Most of the time you don't even know when you will be on or off a project until the day you suddenly have a meeting and are told that you switch to project xy immediately.
