Nothing.
A culture of constant layoffs.
I would encourage leadership to reflect more seriously on the human impact of quietly letting people go while continuing to hire externally at the same time.
Layoffs do not only affect headcount or budgets — they affect people’s mental health, confidence, financial stability, and sense of dignity. When these decisions are handled silently, without transparency or open acknowledgement, it can make employees feel invisible and disposable.
The company is losing talented people who have contributed their time, skills, and loyalty, while also slowly damaging its own reputation. A stronger approach would be to communicate more openly, consider internal redeployment where possible, and treat employees with the empathy and respect they deserve during difficult business periods.
A recurring issue I experienced is that leadership appears to respond to business challenges primarily through layoffs, rather than first focusing on thoughtful restructuring, internal mobility, or reallocating resources.
What makes this especially difficult is the lack of transparency around these decisions. Layoffs are often kept very quiet and are not openly addressed internally or externally. This creates a very unsettling and dehumanising experience for employees, especially for those who have invested several years of their time, energy, and loyalty into the company.
Instead of feeling like people are treated as long-term contributors, it can feel as though employees are quickly replaced when circumstances become difficult. Seeing new roles being posted publicly on LinkedIn shortly after colleagues have been let go only reinforces the feeling that the company prefers to hire externally rather than protect, retrain, or redeploy existing talent where possible.
Overall, the experience can leave employees feeling undervalued and disposable. In my view, leadership could do much more to communicate openly, handle transitions with empathy, and show a stronger commitment to the peopl
low
Terrible. Do not work in this company. They get rid of people quietly and replace them. Dehumanising experience.
The teamwork, support, and strong sense of solidarity among colleagues.
A lot of potential within the company is wasted. Talented and motivated employees are often not properly supported or recognized, while others are promoted mainly because of internal relationships. Open communication and constructive criticism are not always welcomed, which creates a culture of fear in some areas. In the long term, this causes both employees and the company itself to lose valuable potential.
Start listening to employees and stop viewing criticism as something negative by default. Most employees raise concerns because they want to improve processes and help solve problems. Unfortunately, there is often a fear that speaking openly may lead to negative consequences, which causes many employees to remain silent.
The atmosphere among colleagues was great, but depending on the manager, the environment could also become quite toxic. The team itself was what made the day-to-day work enjoyable.
Mixed overall. Employees speak both positively and negatively about the company. Experiences strongly depend on the team and management structure.
There was some flexibility in organizing work schedules, but the workload itself was simply too high, which often cancelled out that flexibility.
Career growth and development opportunities often seem tied to internal relationships rather than actual performance or potential. Employees with strong capabilities are sometimes held back or repeatedly given false hope without real progression. Many former colleagues who were not properly supported within the company are now successfully working in leadership positions elsewhere. At the same time, some people are promoted internally despite lacking leadership experience or the ability to positively support a team, which can create additional strain for others.
There is also the impression that raising concerns does not necessarily lead to sustainable improvements, as the underlying causes are not always addressed. In some cases, recurring issues linked to specific behaviours or decision-making patterns have contributed to avoidable frustration and even employee turnover over time, more than is generally visible from the outside.
The salary level is rather low. Even employees with many years of experience struggle to receive fair salary adjustments. Employees are often given promises, but little changes in reality.
Present overall and also communicated externally.
The strongest aspect of the company. The support and collaboration between colleagues were exceptional, and many people genuinely helped each other. At the same time, it is also sad that this strong team spirit is often the main reason why employees stay despite the pressure. Many people are constantly working at their limit.
No issue
Very dependent on the individual manager. My experiences were positive at first, but later became very negative. Support and constructive feedback were often missing. When approaching management for help or guidance, it could sometimes be interpreted as a lack of independence. On the other hand, when tasks were handled independently and to the best of one’s ability, the outcome was often met mainly with criticism.
Modern environment with all the necessary tools and equipment available.
Very poor overall. Most of the time it was unclear what goals we were actually working toward. I often received more information from other teams than from my own manager.
Yes
The work itself was interesting and varied. Different customer cases provided valuable learning opportunities, and collaboration with other internal teams was especially beneficial.
Home office at the beginng but they changed it.
Telling employees that a ex-employee left because she found a better opportunity. Trying to be honest.
I was happy with my Vienna Team
at the beginning it was okay.
Vienna team, was nice
My direct manager was great.
It was confusing because when I asked they didnt know the answer and i needed to ask around. There was no process.
The moment I had call with our director I knew that it would be my last day.
Not much to highlight here. I liked my team, I consider that things worked well within our small group, but of course with the limitations of the overall company.
- Be moral towards employees and terminated employees. Employees are not just resources.
- Communicate clearly and transparently. Tell why decisions are made, why people got fired.
- A general U-turn of how C-level seems to consider employees as resources.
- Include employees' opinions in decision-making.
- While being agile is important, stick to a strategy. Find a balance.
Good in my team. Overall, not good at all. There were situations where I felt like I was not treated fairly. E.g., when innovating new features internally, even if a feature becomes part of the product offering (and a highly promoted feature on Linkedin, too), there is no recognition for it. I believe that innovating within a company deserves some kind of verbal recognition.
The image of working at Adverity seems to be decreasing significantly.
I got fired during the final and most stressful phase of my Master's, while still in "Bildunskarenz", not long before I should've returned to the company. While being in "Bildungskarrenz" does not mean being safe from termination, I dare to question the morality of firing people during a period with little to no time to plan and search for a new job, especially without any additional compensation to transition smoothly. Overall, education/training had a low value and little to no priority, at least outside of new platform features.
I had a very good relationship with my direct manager. When looking at the whole company, though, there have been too many things that were simply not okay to give more than 2 stars. Additionally, C-level is rarely seen and heard outside of Townhalls, which, in my opinion, says a lot.
Nice office.
No clear communication. The strategy of the company seemed to change every month, at least from my point of view. People get fired in an untransparent way, often randomly, and it almost seems that they want to cover up terminations.
Very hard to get a raise. In my case, even after being promoted from junior to mid-level, I was stupid enough to agree to work 7 months (until the end of the year) without a raise.
Very social company with lots of fun events and great people. Love our communication style within the business. Appreciate the friendly environment and the dog-friendly office! Also appreciate the family-friendly flexibility approach.
Salary and Development are weaker points here. Would love to see our management work on improving these to become more competitive.
Totally friendly and fun
Positive

We need more budget for this but I hope this improves in the future
Could be more competitive...

Team-orientated mindset accross the organisation

Solid effort, always room for improvement
yes!
Yes, small company, lots of topics, room to get your hands on projects
Location
More seniority
Fake it - till you make it
toxic environment, employees are worth nothing, many inexperienced managers working in their first job after university and have no clue how to treat people in a respectful way, disgusting mentality
completely irrelevant, nobody cares anyway
Tolle Mitarbeiter, sehr flache Hierarchien
Gute Feedbackkultur.
So verdient kununu Geld.
