Update: suggestions on how to find the balance between demanding work environment & work/life balance --> I think allowing full remote work would make a difference. I am much more focused and less tired when working from home office.
We spend so much energy & time on being sociable and interacting with each other in corridors, at desks, corporate cafeteria. The only solution to mitigate office noise a bit is to sit in sound proof headphones.
When I meet with family in the evening or with friends --> I just want to sit in silence :) Also, when working from home office --> I am more productive. If I was allowed to, I would move to some small town with less expensive rent cost and would enjoy working from there.
