Overtime, micromanagement, stressful atmosphere, layoffs and in general the pressure. We can't even get a coffee peacefully because there is a camera in the lunch area and a screen counting how many people are drinking coffee at the moment

Identify what is urgent and what is not, if management has unrealistic expectations then middle management should speak up (nobody does because they know they will be fired, but that's also a suggestion to improve culture)

We take such comments seriously and continuously reflect on how workplace initiatives are perceived.
Regarding the lunch area/coffee line: the system mentioned was developed as part of an internal AI project with the sole purpose of improving the employee experience by displaying current capacity and estimated waiting times in the bistro. No video footage is stored, no individuals are identified, and no personal data is collected or monitored. The technology only converts live visual input into anonymous numerical data (e.g. occupancy levels and waiting time in minutes) to help colleagues decide when it’s a good time to go.There is no intention to monitor, control, or track employees in any way. That said, we understand that perceptions matter, and feedback like this helps us identify where we need to communicate more transparently and clearly about the purpose and boundaries of such tools.
With regard to the topic of layoffs and pressure: we do not operate on a model of constant layoffs. Instead, we focus on continuous performance management, regular feedback, and clear expectations, with the goal of supporting development, accountability, and sustainable performance. This approach is intended to create clarity and fairness rather than uncertainty. We remain committed to fostering a work environment built on trust, respect, and open communication, and we value honest feedback as part of that process.

However, we're concerned about several points you've raised, particularly regarding the office atmosphere feeling scary and your experience with work-life balance. We'd like to clarify that we don't push for overtime or weekend work - we operate with 40-hour all-in contracts and an 80/20 approach where team members are online from 10am to 4pm. Some positions do involve shift work, including weekends, but this is part of their scheduled shifts rather than additional expectations.

Regarding the office atmosphere, we'd really appreciate more details about what makes you feel this way so we can better understand and address these concerns. Your feedback about equality, career development, and leadership is also important to us, and we're committed to creating a fair and supportive workplace for everyone.

Good benefits, cozy office with tons of quiet spaces, and a stellar team. There's an atmosphere of support and keeping eachother honest.

Work-Life-Balance

This largely depends on the market of course but even at short notice, I have never seen a request to leave early or ask for the next workday off that was denied. When we're asked to work extra days, we get compensated with additional days off whenever we want which is convenient. It's pretty flexible.

We have a large team from all over the world and are encouraged to draw from one-another's localized and personal experience in our daily work.

When things got rough, which can happen in the crypto industry (significant news events often have a major effect on our workload), they always told it like it is with no games and went above and beyond to support me and my colleagues. When they were needed, they were always there.
